(Clearwisdom.net) Before, when something unfavorable happened or when there was a problem, practitioners would say, "We have omissions with the whole body." Back then, I didn't agree with this statement. I thought the root cause resided in those individual practitioners. Why were they saying it was related to all practitioners? Would this mean that I might have issues too? I didn't understand and had many complaints about this.
With Fa study, gradually I recognized that when problems happened in an area, it indeed was related to all the practitioners there. In other words, it meant we did have omissions as a whole body. So I tried to uncover the root cause of our omissions. However, I was looking outside at others and tried to find other people's shortcomings instead of looking within. I didn't realize that I was also a particle of the whole body and that I too should look inside for my own shortcomings. Instead, I used "there are omissions with the whole body" as a cover-up for myself. Whenever there were problems, I would say that we all had omissions. Because of this, it was very difficult for me to look inside. Sometimes, I tried to look inside but I found that I was only doing it superficially to show others.
Now I know that I am part of the whole body. When there are problems, I should first look at myself. I shouldn't exclude myself when practitioners say that there are omissions with the whole body. Instead, I should say, "I have omissions." Take the example of a practitioner being illegally arrested. First of all, we should not cooperate with the persecution and we should negate the old forces' arrangements. Next, we should not try to find out what omissions that practitioner had. Instead, we should look inside ourselves and see if we have any omissions, asking questions like: Did I have too much sentimentality towards that practitioner? Did I blindly praise him/her for things that he/she did? Did I not do enough in some areas and therefore caused extra pressure for that practitioner? Of course, we can kindly point out that practitioner's shortcomings if he or she didn't realize his or her own issues. However, when each one of us uncovers our own omissions, we as a whole body are able to improve together. We will have more power of the Fa with us and the evil will naturally die out. If we always look inside and follow Teacher's requirements, we'll be able to prevent many problems from happening. We will form an indestructible whole body. The evil won't be able to persecute us, as we will have no more gaps and we will be able to save more sentient beings.
