(Clearwisdom.net) This article was written in response to the confusion of a fellow practitioner whom I have known for years. This fellow practitioner said: "I am concerned about you, as you have not experienced any persecution. You should know that only responding to a critical test can show your true color." She presumed that I would betray fellow practitioners if I was arrested or tortured. I did not expect any practitioner to have such an understanding. I feel there is a need to remind fellow practitioners that we should view problems from the standpoint of the Fa and avoid being confused by false impressions.

This woman had once been betrayed by another practitioner, as a result of which she was imprisoned in a police station for more than one year. This bad event scarred her frame of mind. Instead of measuring her thoughts with the standard of the Fa, she would unintentionally apply human notions developed from this experience to resolve issues. As of today, she still wrongly thinks that being persecuted is a personal merit accumulated in cultivation. Many practitioners still hold these wrong notions.

We know that being persecuted by the evil is attributable to practitioners' own omissions and their deviations from the Fa. Being persecuted is nothing to be proud of, nor should it be shown off. On the contrary, steadfast practitioners usually practice cultivation humbly and calmly. If we judge practitioners with human notions, such as whether they were persecuted, instead of looking at these issues from the standpoint of the Fa, then we would virtually accept the old forces' persecution against practitioners.

Master never acknowledges the old forces' "tests." Why should we?

We are Master's disciples. We can successfully cultivate to consummation, as Dafa equips us with everything we need for cultivation. While we respond to the interference of the old forces during our cultivation, it doesn't mean we can't cultivate to consummation without their tests.

Some fellow practitioners fell behind in the presence of persecution. There may be many reasons for this in deep dimensions that we can't see. One reason may be that they were lured by false manifestations created by the old forces because they looked at situations from the surface and not from the Fa, and were thereby misled by their human notions. The principles that practitioners follow in cultivation are different from those of ordinary people. Safety measured with human notions may not be safe at all.

Cultivation is a serious task. Any notions that deviate from the Fa can be dangerous and may create unnecessary loss to cultivation. Some fellow practitioners have not been able to escape persecution for years. They should calmly consider whether they are acknowledging the old force arrangements or following the path set forth by Master.
