(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 10 provinces. As per this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yuan Pingjun, After Being Arrested on August 2, 2010, Is Now Held in the Hebei Province Brainwashing Center

2. [Nanning City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Guijuan and Several Other Practitioners Arrested
The following practitioners were arrested on July 30, 2010: Ms. Li Guijuan, Ms. Liao Xiuqin, and Ms. Chen Guizhen (employee at an electrical wire plant). Police broke into their homes in the Daban Community, the Chengbei District, Nanning City. Police confiscated their personal property.
3. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Binglan and Ms. Zhao Hongbin Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
Former Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Liu Binglan and Ms. Zhao Hongbin, both living in Gaobeidian City, were arrested in mid-June 2010 and are currently detained at the Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Liu was once arrested in 2008 and sent to labor camp for one and a half years. After being pressured and persecuted at Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp she gave up the practice and remarried after her release. Nevertheless, two weeks after her release, she was arrested again and sent to a labor camp.
4. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Fengjian, Ms. Wang Sumei, and Mr. Sun Hongqiao Arrested
Ms. Wang Sumei and Mr. Sun Hongqiao, both from Hancun Township in Yongqing County, went to Yangshuiwu Town to clarify the truth on the evening of August 1. Yangshuiwu police detained them for one night. Police called Ms. Wang Sunmei's husband Sun Fengjian the following day, ordering him to come to the police station. Mr. Sun Fengjian went to Yangshuiwu Police Station and clarified the truth to the police. Police did not listen and told him to leave. Six police officers followed Mr. Sun to his home, confiscated his personal belongings and arrested him. He, along with Ms. Wang Sumei and Mr. Sun Hongqiao, are now held at the Langfang Detention Center.

5. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Yu Jing Arrested at Home
Ms. Yu Jing, a Falun Gong practitioner who is nearly 70 years old, lives in the Gulou District, Fuzhou City. She was arrested at home on the afternoon of August 2, 2010.
Ms. Yu had been persecuted numerous times in the past. When she and another elderly practitioner put up truth-clarification posters on May 15, 2010, they were arrested. Participating in the arrest were agents from the Gudong Police Station, Fuzhou City. After being held at the Fuzhou First Detention Center, Ms. Yu returned home on June 8. Gulou District Court officials held a hearing on January 28, 2010, in which Ms. Yu and her attorney pleaded not guilty. More than six months have passed since that hearing. Ms. Yu did not receive any further information. She was again arrested on August 2, 2010.
6. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Police Arrested Ms. Shan Shumei on Around July 21, 2010. She Is Still Detained.
7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Shuangliu County Court Plans a Hearing for Ms. Han Yuhua
Ms. Han Yuhua, a doctor in her 60s, is a Falun Gong practitioner in Shuangliu County. Shuangliu Police Station officials arrested her on the morning of October 18, 2009. The Shuangliu County Court plans a hearing for her on August 4, 2010.
8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lu Shuzhen Arrested and Sent to a Brainwashing Center
Ms. Lu Shuzhen has to walk with the aid of two crutches for the past several years. As a result, she has opted to stay at home. Jiangnan Street Neighborhood Administration officials, together with Jiangnan Police Station agents, broke into her home on July 15. They arrested and sent her to the Shahezi Brainwashing Center. Police transferred her to the Jiaohe Brainwashing Center on July 27. That was 26 days ago, but she is still not allowed to return home. Her husband Deng Yongsheng visited Ms. Lu on July 27. He was also arrested and is now being kept at the Jilin City Detention Center.
In addition, Dachangtun Police Station officers arrested Ms. Sun Jinlan and two other Falun Gong practitioners on August 1, when they distributed truth-clarification materials near Jilin City's Hydraulic Machinery Plant. They are now at the Jilin City Detention Center.
9. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Xinhua Harassed and Leaves Home to Avoid Further Persecution
Ms. Liu Xinhua, a Falun Gong practitioner from Dao County in Hunan Province, lives in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. Dao County 610 Office agents came to Hengyang to harass Ms. Liu every year prior to July 20 because of her practicing Falun Gong. 610 Office agents arrested her at home in 2001 and held her at a brainwashing center for one week. 610 Office agents went to her home once again in 2003, arrested her and confiscated her personal property.
10. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Persecution of Mr. Min Qinjun - Belated News -
Mr. Min Qinjun, a 34-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested in Chengdu City on April 10, 2002. He was sentenced to 10 years and incarcerated at the Guangyuan Prison. He was transferred to the Wumaping Prison in Jianwei County, Leshan City this past June and was forced to do hard labor.
11. [Inner Mongolia] Ms. Wang Xiaoyan and Ms. Li Yufen Missing Following Their Detention
Chifeng court officials sentenced Ms. Wang Xiaoyan and Ms. Li Yufen, two practitioners in Balinzuo Prefecture in Inner Mongolia, to four years imprisonment for their practicing Falun Gong. They were heard to have been transferred to the Hohhot City Women's Prison in March 2010. Their current whereabouts are currently unknown.
12. [Huili City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xu Guofang Arrested around July 28 and Sent to the Huili Detention Center
13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guomei Arrested
When someone reported Ms. Sun Guomei's truth-clarification efforts to police, Ms. Sun was arrested, kept at the Nanguanling Prison and had her personal property confiscated.
14. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Persecution of Ms. Li Xiulan and Ms. Liu Changping
Ms. Li Xiulan is a 73-year-old practitioner who lives on Tuanjie Street. Minsheng Police Station agents in Jiaozuo City went to her home at about 10 am on July 16, in the name of searching for drug addicts. They arrested Ms. Li and took her to the police station. Police did not release her until they extorted 5,000 Yuan from her daughter's home.
Ms. Liu Changping, a 37-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, lives in Jiaozuo City. She was arrested on her way home at about 7 p.m. on July 18. Four people participated in the arrest, including police officer Lu Qingxue from the Shangbaizuo Police Station. They took Ms. Liu to a brainwashing center located at the Jiaozuo City Police Department, about 10 kilometers from her home. She was released once her family bailed her out.
