(Clearwisdom.net) My mother is ninety years old now but she looks 10 years younger than her age. She studies Zhuan Falun and practices the exercises every day. When people meet her, they are amazed by her good health and high energy, and people ask her how she is able to be so healthy at her age. She always proudly says, "I practice Falun Gong. Please keep in mind that Falun Gong is good and you will be blessed if you practice."
My father died when he was 50, during the three years of the famine period in the early 1960s, my mother, then a forty-one-year old widow, raised five of us and also took care of our eighty-year-old grandma (her mother-in-law). When we grew up, my mother, who was then in her 70s, became very sick. She suffered from anxiety and had difficulty eating, drinking and even sleeping. She felt that her life was ending.
In 1996 my mother started to practice Falun Gong and she became very healthy. The illness symptoms, which for years could not be cured by treatments or medicine, all disappeared after she became a Falun Gong practitioner. Soon, the five of us began practicing Falun Gong. My mother was full of energy, and diligently persisted in studying the Fa and practicing the exercises every day. Whenever she met someone, she would tell them that Falun Gong is good. Even after the Chinese Communist Party began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, and when many people were afraid of practicing Falun Gong due to the intense pressure from the media and the workplace, my mom persisted and said, "I am not afraid and I will continue practicing Falun Gong even when others are giving it up."
My mom enjoyed a normal, healthy life after she started practicing Falun Going. Here, I would like to share my mom's quick recoveries from three injuries she sustained after taking up the practice. In the summer of 2003, my mom, in her 80s, was walking home after grocery shopping when she was knocked down by a man who was playing badminton with someone between two buildings. Many people stopped to look, frightened that an 80-year-old lady was knocked down. She was immediately sent to a hospital for a check up. X-rays showed that her left arm had a fracture with a one-and-a-half-inch-wide crack. The doctor suggested that she be hospitalized and that pins would have to be inserted to mend her arm. It would take at least three months for her to recover. The doctor also predicted a dysfunction in her lower arm, given her age. But, my mother insisted that she be discharged from the hospital and said, "It's no big deal and I will get better in a few days at home."
Just as she said, everything returned to normal. About two weeks after the incident, she could walk and go down stairs. The neighbors were surprised at her quick recovery. Not too long after, she resumed practicing the exercises, both arms were back to normal, and there was no sign of her injuries. She was amazed by her recovery and knew she had experienced the power of Dafa. She did not stay in the hospital, did not have to have pins inserted to fix the fracture, and did not have any dysfunction in her arms at all. In her 80s, her fractured arm miraculously recovered and was back to normal in a matter of less than two weeks.
In the summer of 2006, my mother tripped on a stone-paved road and fell forward to the ground. Her nose was broken and her knees were swollen, but she managed to walk back home all by herself, and told us, "I'm okay, don't worry and I will be better tomorrow." As a result, she was back to normal in three days. On the fourth day after the incident, she went downstairs and took a walk. Neighbors were again amazed at her quick recovery.
In the winter of 2008, when my mother visited a neighbor, she fell again. This time she landed on her hips. Gradually, she got up by herself, walked home and did not feel any pain. She felt some discomfort after she returned home, but the symptoms were much less severe than they should have been in an ordinary person of her age. My mother, 88 years old, fully recovered in a short period of time after practicing the exercises and studying the Fa.
