(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Cui Lu, about 40 years old, from Zhuolu County, Hebei Province, was an employee of the county government and began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. He is now being held at No. 1 Team, No. 9 Division of Jidong Prison, Hebei Province. While in prison, he has been subjected to severe torture. Mr. Cui began a hunger strike in June 2010 to protest the persecution. He is now extremely weak and emaciated.
While Mr. Lu was working at the county government office at around 10:00 a.m. on March 19, 2009, officers from the Zhuolu County Police Department, 610 Office and the local police station took joint action to arrest him. Dong Fei from the County State Security Division and Li Zhiming from the 610 Office led a dozen or so officers in the arrest. After the arrest, the officers ransacked Mr. Cui's home. Mr. Cui was then detained and later transferred between Langfang, Zhangjiakou, Zhuolu, and a few other locations. He was pressured to give up his cultivation. Mr. Cui began a hunger strike in protest but was barbarically forced-fed. A feeding tube was inserted into his lung, and as a result Mr. Cui was in a coma for seven days and his life was in danger. Mr. Cui was then transferred to Zhuolu County Hospital, where he was still handcuffed and shackled. His limbs were cuffed so tightly to the bed frame that he could not move. He was watched by officers around the clock. His family requested that the authorities release him but the request was denied.
Mr. Cui Lu was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment on September 9, 2009, without a confession or any evidence whatsoever, and he was taken to Jidong Prison. The authorities did not inform his family about the verdict.
In prison, Mr. Cui continued to be steadfast in his belief. As a result he was locked up in a small cell and forced to sit on a small stool for extended periods of time. In June 2010, Mr. Li went on a hunger strike in protest but was again force-fed. His mouth and esophagus were injured as a result of the barbaric force-feeding. After two months on hunger strike, he has become extremely weak.
