(Clearwisdom.net) I am a middle school student and a young Dafa practitioner. I have seen many experience sharing articles on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website recently about eliminating lustful thoughts. In this regard, I would like to share my personal views.
As many practitioners have been saying, school campuses in mainland China are no longer peaceful places. The pervasive Chinese Communist Party culture has led to a decline in morality in general, the deterioration of social values. In combination with the negative influence of deviated modern pop music, movies and television programs, many students no longer focus on their studies.
Here, I would like to share my view on "admiration" or "fondness" for students of the opposite sex. Although there is no improper behavior involved, cultivation is very serious. In this regard, I have been doing badly, resulting in some self induced persecution. For me, the lesson was a major one.
Cultivation is very serious, even if a practitioner has only a trivial thought in mind. There is an old Chinese saying that when 'desire for lust arose, gods looked down upon it.' In this regard, the standard for a cultivator is strict. One cannot go astray or make the slightest mistake. Lust plays a key factor in determining success or failure in cultivation. As I understand it, this is unquestionable.
I still clearly remember my first initial bad thought. Master told us that in a specific dimension, whatever people do, it leaves an image and a message. Cultivators' thoughts have strong energy and can be seen clearly in other dimensions, so bad thoughts cannot be hidden from the eyes of numerous gods. The old forces are also watching closely.
I started to practice Dafa when I was in fourth grade in elementary school, but did not know how to practice cultivation. My mother traveled frequently on business trips, often away from home half a month on each trip. The cultivation environment was lacking at home. For Fa study, all I did was to listen to Master's audio lectures before I went to bed. Gradually I slackened off practicing Dafa and slipped away from righteous thoughts.
I would like to remind parent practitioners that they should supervise young practitioners in their cultivation, since children's self-discipline is relatively poor. Ordinary human society is like a big dye vat, so it is very important to supervise young practitioners to study the Fa.
I still clearly remember one time I was practicing calligraphy when a bad thought suddenly came into my mind. I was thinking about how good looking an opposite sex schoolmate was. I felt embarrassed at that moment. Since I did not have righteous thoughts and did not study Fa much, I did not correct my bad thoughts based on the Fa.
A buddhist monk, who has good knowledge on Buddhist scriptures, saw a woman washing her feet in the riverside; he thought the woman had good-looking feet. Because of this lustful thought, he lost his opportunity to become abbot. Ancient cultivators had such rigid requirements. Today's novels, television programs, and pop music all contribute to moral deterioration. As I understand it, no matter how society changes, the standard required of a Dafa practitioner will never change. The Fa has its standard.
If a practitioner is unable to discard this attachment and remains stubbornly attached to human notions, unable to ascend to the standards of the Fa, they will forever lose the opportunity to practice Falun Dafa.
