(Clearwisdom.net) Four Falun Gong practitioners, including Li Fengfei, Sun Lifeng, Liu Chunxun, and Chen Li, were put on trial at the Alihe Court, Elunchun Banner, Inner Mongolia, on August 2, 2010. Mr. Li's sister, Ms. Li Fengxia, had hired a lawyer from Beijing to defend her brother. Dayangshu Police Department agents subsequently arrested Ms. Li Fengxia, her daughter, and her sister-in-law. Their present whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Li Fengfei Illegally Arrested
Dayangshu Township Police Department agent Li Benxue, along with officers from the criminal police team in Elunchun, broke into Mr. Li's house without a search warrant on the evening of March 29, 2010. Police found no evidence, but confiscated his wife's cell phone.
Mr. Li, 50, from Dayangshu Township, Elunchun, Inner Mongolia, was illegally arrested and detained for four days at the Dayangshu Police Department, where he was tortured to the point of not being able to walk steadily. On April 2, 2010, he was transferred to the Alihe Detention Center, where guards instigated criminal detainees to brutally beat him.
Two Hongyan Township police officers had previously arrested Mr. Li while he was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials on August 14, 2004. During the interrogation, official Gao shocked him with electric batons and slapped his face so hard that it impaired his hearing. Mr. Li was detained and tortured at the Dayangshu Forestry Police Department for a month. He was thereafter sentenced to a three-year term in a forced labor camp, but was allowed to serve the term outside the camp.
Mo Qi Police Department head Zhang Shibin, National Security Team leader Gao, and a dozen other police officers also ransacked Mr. Li's house at that time.
Ms. Li Fengxia Arrested While Trying to Rescue Her Brother
Ms. Li Fengxia, 54, a middle school teacher in Jiagedaqi City, Heilongjiang Province, went to the Dayangshu Township Police Department several times to demand her brother's release. On one occasion, a police officer punched her, pulled her hair, and choked her.
Ms. Li hired a lawyer from Beijing to defend her brother. Court officials told the lawyer that he could meet with Mr. Li prior to the trial. When the lawyer and Ms. Li Fengxia arrived at the detention center however, they were told that they could not meet with Mr. Li unless they obtained the detention center head's signature. Zhang Yanhua, head of the detention center, refused to sign the required document. Ms. Li and the lawyer went to the Political and Legal Committee for resolution but got no assistance there. Therefore, they were unable to meet with Mr. Li. The Alihe Court staff eventually agreed to allow the lawyer to review Mr. Li Fengfei's files.
The trial for four Falun Gong practitioners (Li Fengfei, Sun Lifeng, Liu Chunxun, and Chen Li) commenced on the morning of August 2, 2010. The lawyer entered a non-guilty plea for Mr. Li, but he was sentenced to forced labor.
After the trial, plainclothes officers from Dayangshu Township Police Department followed Ms. Li Fengxia home. Three days later, on August 5, 2010, they arrested her at the school where she worked in Jiagedaqi and confiscated her work computer.
The police also arrested Ms. Li's daughter, who is a college student, and Ms. Li's sister-in-law.
