Police in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province Interrogate and Torture Falun Gong Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Police in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province recently arrested five practitioners and ransacked their homes. The practitioners were also interrogated and tortured.

Zhang Yingduo, head of the Yilan County Domestic Security Division, led several officers to arrest five practitioners including Ms. Ding Xueping and Ms. Li Huihui at around 4:00 p.m. on October 29, 2011. They also ransacked the practitioners' homes, confiscating Falun Gong books and informational materials, an MP3 player, an MP5 player, and other personal belongings.

That same evening, Zhang Yingduo, Song Yuzhe, Wei Zhanquan, along with other officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Criminal Investigation Division, interrogated and tortured the practitioners, and even beat a teenage girl.

It was learned that three of the practitioners have been released, but only after one of them was extorted of 1,000 yuan. Ms. Ding and Ms. Li are currently in the Yilan County Detention Center. Ms. Ding is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Since the start of the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Ding has been persecuted many times by the Yilan County police. She was once held in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City where she was subjected to severe physical abuse and torture.
