(Clearwisdom.net) After being involved in a law suit for about one year, I finally understood the connotation of Falun Dafa a little bit, and here I would like to share my understanding with fellow practitioners.
I have been persecuted since 2008, and under the control of the 610 Office, I was fired from my employment. Being under a lot of pressure, I was helpless and never felt like being an honorable Dafa practitioner. I have suffered from injustice for more than two years.
In “Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference”, Master said,
“From my perspective, as your master, during the Fa-rectification I absolutely don't accept the using of this evil persecution to test Dafa disciples, and Dafa disciples shouldn't have the wrong idea that they can cultivate higher by enduring persecution. Dafa and its disciples oppose the persecution, that is Dafa disciples' duty. If you don't cultivate yourself based on the Fa, you can't cultivate higher by just enduring persecution, much less reach the standards for a Dafa disciple.”
When I understood the Fa, I knew that it was not enough to simply know the high level Fa, but it must be applied to my everyday life. With the help of practitioners, I sued my employer. I reminded myself that the result is not the important part, but I must use this opportunity to validate the Fa during this process.
In Zhuan Falun, Master said,
“Without knowing the Fa at high levels, one cannot practice cultivation. Without cultivating one’s inner self and one’s xinxing, one cannot increase gong. These are the two reasons. ”
However, at that time I didn't understand the Fa well, and I specifically stated the reason of my termination, which was because I practice Falun Gong. I thought that this would help others to have a discussion, but while I was in court, all the judges talked about was that Falun Gong is not good.
Master said, “As I've said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.”)
After I returned, I continued to look within. When I read “Fa Teaching Given at the 2010 New York Fa Conference”, I enlightened by Master's answers to two questions.
The first question was, “Could we have the Divine Land Marching Band travel to a city in advance of a Shen Yun performance, so that the people there will learn about Falun Gong?” Master said,
“Of course, there’s nothing wrong with your wanting to raise awareness about Falun Gong in that locale, but, you can’t do what you described. You needn’t insist on telling people that Shen Yun has ties to Falun Gong and make a big fanfare out of it. I don’t hide the connection, but I don’t intentionally delve into it either. You know, looking back three to five decades ago, some eighty percent or more of the world’s population held religious beliefs, with pretty much all of some performance companies’ members being persons of Catholic or Christian faith. Yet, you never heard them announcing prior to their performances, “we’re Christians who have come to perform” or “we’re Catholics who have come to perform.” Did anyone say such things? Even the performance troupes that operate on behalf of the demonic, wicked Party’s regime, which the entire world knows them to be doing, don’t disclose their party affiliation before performing. Then why must we feel so compelled to do so? Isn’t that imposing a double standard [on ourselves]? True, there is the problem of Falun Gong being persecuted. But while I don’t avoid the issue, at the same time I don’t actively talk about it either. Don’t let yourselves be swayed by people who the old forces control. The way I handle things is nothing like how you do, being so easily swayed.”
The second question was about distributing the Epoch Times newspaper in Chicago's Chinatown, and Master answered,
“Some [of our] media give no thought to what they’re doing and always put Falun Gong out front, “the Falun Gong Epoch Times,” “the Falun Gong NTDTV,” the Falun Gong this, Falun Gong that. Some students just insist on doing that, when in fact they don’t need to. And actually, even if you didn’t say that, people would still know. Many people know that the Epoch Times is run by Falun Gong students. But do you realize, all that talk about people supposedly saying that if you don’t put Falun Gong out front you’ll have this and that issue, was in fact something that was spurred by secret agents of the wicked Party? Yet how come you’re always citing those words? Have you not yet thought it over? Looking back a few decades ago, many media organizations, from the person at the top on down to the staff, were composed entirely of Christians. Yet nobody was prompting them to always begin by disclosing that “we’re Christians” this and that, “we’re Catholics” and have such-and-such kind of newspaper. (Audience laughs) Would they ever do that? Wouldn’t that be strange? Why don’t you find it strange?”
On the last day of my appeal and with the encouragement of fellow practitioners, I continued to appeal. This time, I didn't mention Falun Gong, and totally denied the persecution. I sued my employer, who had fired me without any reason and had stopped giving me my subsidies. While in court, the judge asked me, “Do you really not know why they fired you.” I answered, “No, I don't, that is the reason why I sued them.” The judge asked, “Why did your employer only fire you and deduct your subsidies but not others?” I replied, “Exactly! Because I'm the only one who was fired and lost money, I sued them. I think you should ask the defendant for the reason. ”
They could not provide any reason for my persecution nor any reason based on the law. Although, all of them knew the reason and attempted to force me to mention “Falun Gong,” I didn't mention it at all, but my attorney provided them with all the reasons and left the judge speechless.
Later on when I faced the judge alone, I cleared up all his misconceptions about Falun Gong. The judge said, “Don't be scared, that is a problem of belief.” Since then, when any defendants mentioned Falun Gong, the judge directly admonished them.
After being in court two times, I enlightened: Whether Falun Gong is good or not, we practitioners have the right to speak. We must validate that Dafa is good. Only because we didn't realize this clearly did evil beings take advantage of it and commit a crime toward Dafa.
Because of my fear and being unclear about the Fa, my case was delayed until now. I deeply felt Master's great pain. As long as we act according to Master's requirements, everything will run smoothly.
Master said,
“Actually, when Master wants something done a certain way, it’s not simply that he thought of something and then that’s it. I have to do a tremendous amount of preparation, which you cannot see, and all of those gods work on it too. Everything has been prepared, and all that’s missing is for you to carry it out. Yet you won’t take that step.” (“Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa - Fa Teaching Given at the 2011 Washington DC Metro Area Fa Conference”)
