Setting Aside the Human Heart, Cultivating Openly and with Dignity
Master taught us,

I am a doctor working in a hospital. Most of my patients, friends, family, and colleagues have learned the truth about Falun Dafa and have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party and/or its affiliated organizations, the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers. A few years ago, my job in the hospital changed, and now I have more time to do the three things. I am still working on my boss, who does not believe the truth about Dafa, and even joins in the persecution. I also begged Master to give me a chance to clarify the truth to our hospital director. One day last year, this opportunity came.
The Secretary of the hospital's Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Committee notified me to go to his office. I immediately sent forth righteous thoughts, determined to save him. When I sat down in his office, he was very polite, saying, “Your skills are very good. Your not seeing patients anymore is kind of a waste.” He was hoping I would return to my previous position. I told him that I did not wish to change my position, and I casually discussed work with him. Meanwhile, I told him about how I had been mistreated due to the persecution over the past ten years, what Falun Dafa is, the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident, and how people save themselves by quitting the CCP. I could tell that he understood. I persuaded him to not participate in the persecution of Falun Gong, and he quickly said that he never would. He said that practitioners are innocent. He had learned the truth. Although he did not agree to quit CCP that day, he later quit after another practitioner talked to him.
I thought that I could use this subject as a good opportunity to clarify the truth to our hospital director, since he must know the whole situation of trying the change my job. I spent two days over the weekend compiling a 20-page personal letter to him, detailing my work over the past several years to further show that Dafa disciples are good people, no matter where they work. I told the director about Falun Dafa's wide spread, exposed how I was mistreated in the persecution, and how those persecutors have received karmic retribution. My tone was peaceful but powerful, and I tried to inspire his kindness and eliminate his demon nature. In the closing of my letter, I sincerely asked him to do the three withdrawals. At work, he seldom speaks to people, but ever since I gave him my letter, he takes the initiative to talk to me and has twice allowed me to join provincial research conferences. Furthermore, he has never mentioned the issue of changing my position again.
The chairman of my office also learned the truth about Dafa and did the three withdrawals, but she never read the materials I gave her, nor was she willing to talk at all about Falun Dafa. About three weeks ago, our office came across some difficulties, for which the chairman was very worried. I wrote a report for her, which helped to quickly solve the problems. She was very moved by my actions, bore witness to a Dafa disciple's realm, and took me as a close friend. I further clarified the truth to her. She said that her daughter recently returned from the United States, and was speaking non-stop about freedom of speech, freedom of belief, open Internet policies, and the great wave of quitting the CCP. Since then, we often talk about Dafa, and she allows me to read or clarify the truth in the office when I have time. Her ailments are all gone. The process involved in taking days off and applying for a passport have gone very smoothly, enabling me to join important Fa-rectification projects such as the 2008 Olympics, the World Expo in Shanghai, the World Horticulture Expo, and many others. I am clarifying the truth and persuading individuals to do the three withdrawals daily. When I am able to set myself aside, the words I speak are moving and can save sentient beings.
Master teaches us,
“Everything in the world was established and created for the Fa-rectification, and Dafa disciples are the great figures of our time. Since ancient times the beings in all realms have waited in anticipation. Gather up and rescue the beings that you are to save! Have righteous thoughts and righteous actions, dissolve all hindrances, and spread the facts widely. Divine beings are among men.” (“To the European Fa Conference in Stockholm”)
Awakening People, Lighting Firecrackers
Four years ago, a practitioner was sentenced to four years in prison. I enlightened that we should immediately rescue her. She and I were good friends before we started cultivation, so I bought some supplies for her daily needs and accompanied her husband to visit her. Since my husband supported me, he drove us to the prison. I noticed how this practitioner's husband blamed her for her situation, so I communicated with him and clarified the truth to him. He was moved by my sincerity. Before the 2008 Olympics, nearly 20 practitioners that I knew personally were arrested. Some were sent to forced labor camps, and some were sentenced to three or four years in prison. We brought gifts to each practitioner's home during the holidays, spent the holidays with their families, and helped the families who had financial difficulties.
We encouraged these families by informing them that the practitioners are not at fault and that we are all victims of this evil persecution. We stuck together to pass through this difficult time, for we are like one big family. Once released, the imprisoned practitioners returned home one by one, and we welcomed each one of them. When the former volunteer assistant was released, his family lit firecrackers to celebrate his return home and also to eliminate Jiang Zemin's evil elements.
The Power of Righteous Thoughts
Our city's 610 Office chairman is an old friend of my husband. I often clarified the truth to him, and he did the three withdrawals. But after he received a promotion, he changed. He would ask that I cooperate with him, and to not cause trouble now that he has this position. He often slanders Dafa and slanders Dafa disciples' righteous actions. I have given him many informational materials, all of which he has accepted. When my righteous thoughts are strong, he explains that the reason he took the job was for a promotion. I tell him stories of retribution toward people who persecuted Falun Gong and remind him not to throw his life away just for a little profit. However, the cases of persecution have not stopped appearing in our city.
One evening, I looked within when I found that my mind could not become calm during Fa-study. I then extended the length of sending forth righteous thoughts to 30 minutes after 6 p.m. Around 8 p.m., my husband called and asked me to pick him up after his dinner with the 610 Office chairman. Upon my arrival, they got into the car and the chairman said that he had received a report from out of town. The report said that some arrested practitioners told the police about me. He said that he would protect me, and that I would be safe during his term. I maintained very strong righteous thoughts.
Later, we had dinner together on many occasions. The chairman would always mention how he had protected me, and he would threaten my husband about how domestic security closely monitors and follows me. As a result, my husband ordered me to rid our home of any Dafa materials. I looked within, and I found it was my fear that had caused this. I know clearly that Dafa disciples are doing the most righteous things. We rely on Dafa, and our righteous thoughts are derived from our cultivation. I understood that he was only threatening my husband. Thus, I told my husband, “We will not spend a penny on him for the sake of my cultivation. We will not intentionally invite him to dinner. If he dares to persecute good people, he is committing a crime.”
Since then, whenever the chairman mentions how he protected me, my husband answers with wisdom, “I don't owe you any gratitude, and you don't dare to arrest my wife.” The interference ceased after that. I do the three things more diligently now. I feel the mighty power of righteous thoughts from solid cultivation. Master taught us,
“Clarify the truth thoroughly, eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts, save all beings, and safeguard the Fa with determination, because you are a part of Dafa, indestructible; rectify all that is not righteous.” (“Dafa is Indestructible” from Essentials for Further Advancement)
“In the final time, the evil's factors will dwindle, circumstances will ease up, and the world's state of affairs will change, but never will the path that you are to walk straight change.” (“Walk Straight Your Path”）
In this final period of Fa-rectification I must study the Fa well, cultivate myself well, and save more sentient beings in harmony with what Master wants in order to fulfill my prehistoric vows.
