(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Xiangcheng (pseudonym) and his wife are from a rural area in Liaoning Province. They were fortunate to begin practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. They organized a Fa study group and a practice site in their home. It was regularly attended by 20-30 people.
The couple was forced to end the study group and the exercise site when the Chinese Communist Party began the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. They went with other practitioners to Beijing to appeal to higher authorities, but were illegally arrested by police officers at the Beijing Railroad Station. The police put them on a bus which took them to Fengtai Stadium, where they were locked up. Officers from their hometown picked them up at around 9:00 p.m. in a police car. After being interrogated, they were sent home. The village's public security director was given the responsibility of keeping a watch on them.
On July 20, 2001, a little after 11:00 p.m., the village Party secretary led Wang from the Political Security Section of the County Police Department, the head of the local police station, and other men to break into the home of Mr. Xiangcheng. They arrested him and locked him up in the County Detention Center for 37 days. He was then taken to the Wangjiatun Correctional Facility in Jinzhou for a three-year forced labor term. Mr. Xiangcheng was eventually released after 22 months.
Mr. Xiangcheng was supporting the education of his two children. He had one child in a three-year college and another in junior high school, but he wasn't able to find employment. He and his wife decided to start a business collecting scrap materials, after they realized that the business would enable them to practice Falun Dafa, clarify the truth, and make a livelihood at the same time.
Mr. and Mrs. Xiangcheng began their business in early 2005. Every day they rose early and hitched up their donkey cart. While sitting in the cart they sent righteous thoughts and cleared out the field of the village they were visiting that day. They asked for Master's support to bring predestined people to them, so that they could clarify the truth and help people withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. After finishing with one village they went to the next one, continuously helping to save people with predestined relationships.
When people with predestined relationships came to sell scrap material, Mr. Xiangcheng clarified the truth, while his wife sent righteous thoughts. She cleared out the evil factors hindering people from obtaining salvation. This enabled people to be saved in a safe and sound environment. People constantly withdrew from the communist party and its affiliated organizations, and it all went very smoothly. On days when they had more time, they were able to clarify the truth to 17 or 18 people and help them to withdraw from the communist party. When they had less time, they still reached at least ten people. They never forgot to study the Fa and practice the exercises after returning home. When clarifying the truth and saving people, they were kind and benevolent from the beginning to end.
Master said,
"...that the number of lives to be saved before the final moment arrives has not reached the amount it should..." (“Be More Diligent”)
At one point, Mr. Xiangcheng and his wife felt that they had become complacent in their thinking, and sensed that they were slacking off in their efforts to clarify the truth and save people. They felt that they had become less determined than before. They looked within and eliminated this feeling of complacency, and proceeded unequivocally in their mission to save more people. They are now diligently carrying out their responsibilities as Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples. They are honoring their prehistoric vows, and are working hard to meet Master's expectations.
