(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zheng Baohua was a Falun Dafa practitioner from the North China Oil Field in Renqiu City, Hebei Province. In 2000, she was a junior at the North China Education College. From 2000 to 2009, she was imprisoned four times and the length of her imprisonment totaled more than seven years. Ms. Zheng was released from the Tangshan Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in November 2009, because she had late-stage tuberculosis. She died on April 18, 2011, at the age of 32.
Ms. Zheng was imprisoned at the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp from March to November of 2000 [1]. Guards, and inmates who were acting under the guards' orders, repeatedly abused her and other practitioners. They slapped her face with a plastic shoe, tied her up with rope, beat her with rubber sticks or belts, shocked her using electric batons; kicked, pinched her breasts, and deprived her of sleep. When she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, she was handcuffed for seven days and subjected to brutal force-feeding.
Ms. Zheng was imprisoned at the Tangshan Kaiping Forced Labor Camp from May 2001 to November 2003 [2], and at the No. 2 Prison of Shijiazhuang City from June 2004 to June 2007 [3][4].
On July 6, 2008, Ms. Zheng was arrested for telling others about Falun Dafa. She was first held at the Zhunhua Brainwashing Center, where she was brutally beaten. About two weeks later, she was transferred to the Tangshan Kaiping Women's Forced Labor Camp, also known as Hebei Province No. 1 Forced Labor Camp, [5][6] where she was abused. The guards beat her, poured cold water over her, shocked her using electric batons, deprived her of sleep and bathroom use, and subjected her to brutal forced-feeding when she went on hunger strike to protest the torture. As a result of the constant abuse and in a weakened state, Zheng Baohua contracted tuberculosis in May 2009. The disease developed into late-stage tuberculosis by November 2009. She was released because she was in critical condition.
