(Clearwisdom.net) With the recent waves of unrest flowing across the Middle East, an echo of the movement developed in China. Known as the “Jasmine Revolution,” the Chinese communist regime was quick to stifle the dissent and censor the term out of all Internet chat rooms. Living in China and hearing what was taking place, both in the Middle East and in China, I found myself constantly concerned about new developments in the situation in Egypt, Syria and other countries. After reading fellow practitioners' sharing about this subject, I felt that I was thinking about this situation too much. I knew I shouldn't be obsessed with the political changes of ordinary society. Deep inside, I was hoping that the dictator would step down quickly. The basis of these thoughts came from my attachment to when the persecution would end in China. I look forward to the disintegration of the evil Party. When the Party is gone, my desires for comfort will then be able to be satisfied.
From the perspective of personal cultivation, the society of ordinary people has nothing to do with our practice. And from the perspective of Fa-rectification cultivation, the “Jasmine Revolution” can only help us clarify the truth. It can possibly help to broaden the awareness of the Chinese people and provide a good example to use while clarifying the truth. Although the example of what is happening in the Middle East can be used to clarify the truth, it really has nothing to do with us as practitioners.
When Dafa practitioners have an attachment to the effect of events in ordinary society on the Fa rectification, or the end of the Communist Party, then this matter may become relevant to us. We will certainly be swayed if we pay too much attention to it. The old forces will use our attachment to an ordinary event to test us and bring turmoil to our minds. This will ultimately interfere with with our ability to assist Teacher in saving sentient beings.
Actually, the fall of a dictator in another country has nothing to do with the collapse of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Natural trends in society are not an indication of an inevitable process. Gods govern the developmental process and what happens in the human world. When an event is over, people will try to find a theory to explain why something happened and why it turned out the way it did.
If we put our hearts into hoping that the evil Party will collapse soon, the old forces will make the situation worse.
Teacher has pointed out:
“If Dafa disciples were to really focus what they do upon this entity itself, it would collapse, after which the factors of the old cosmos’s forces would then use something else to make trouble. The wicked CCP exists solely for this one purpose, and whether you go after it or not, it will fall apart. Once our Dafa disciples have completed the things that they are to do, it will fall apart for sure. But in the meantime, as good and evil collide, each life’s choice of where it stands, the path that each chooses, and the conduct of these sentient beings will determine where they head in the future. That’s how all this works.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the NTDTV Meeting”)
My personal understanding is that, if the old forces caused the CCP to disappear and altered it into another form, it would still be an evil in another disguise, and practitioners would still need to explain the truth and save sentient beings. The environment of clarifying the truth would face another cruel situation. Let's not give the evil Party too much attention and instead focus on saving sentient beings.
Some fellow practitioners are obsessed with the notion that a superpower should intervene, sanction, and destroy the CCP. This is a human mindset. People cannot solve the real problems of the world; only gods can change things. My understanding is that the fall of the CCP has nothing to do with the United States or any other country. When the CCP collapses, these countries will probably wonder why. Whether the CCP collapses or not will depend on whether Dafa disciples can save sentient beings to a greater degree and save all the people that need to be saved.
Let us review what Teacher has said:
“Looking, but caring not to see—
Free of delusion and doubt.
Listening, but caring not to hear—
A mind so hard to disturb.”
(“Abiding in the Dao,” Hong Yin)
“Gods can control the human mind and lead humans to do certain things, not vice versa. How could human beings possibly affect gods? So if you wish to become a divine being, don't you yourself have to be that way? Don't you have to let go of those attachments? And don't you have to let go of those feelings of yours that can be stirred up by human beings?” (“Teaching the Fa in Canada, 2006”)
When the opportunity arises, use worldly events as an example and stay unattached, and righteous thoughts will guide you.
