(Clearwisdom.net) I know about a woman named Ms. Hao, who is a small business owner in an area of China where Falun Gong practitioners have been facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Ms. Hao used to have many misunderstandings about Falun Gong because of the hate propaganda put out by the CCP. A few years ago, Ms. Hao began suffering from a serious condition. She was diagnosed with a tumor in her uterus, which caused menstrual bleeding that lasted more than two weeks. Her health problem made both her and her husband irritable. When she heard about a laser treatment, she immediately sought the professional opinion of a hospital known for its advanced ob/gyn treatments, only to be disappointed to find that the treatment had a low success rate.
About the time when Ms. Hao felt there was no hope, her husband heard about Falun Gong’s miraculous healing power. He immediately told her, ‘Why don’t you start practicing Falun Gong? It is capable of treating illness and it forbids its practitioners from cursing.” Ms. Hao was notoriously foul-tempered and intimidated her own family.
Ms. Hao's opinion of Falun Gong had improved recently because of an event she witnessed. Ms. Xu, who is also a vendor at a market, had a fiery temperament. Everyone knew to be careful not to instigate any sort of conflict with her. Those who bought things from her would never ask for a refund or exchange. Whether Ms. Xu was right or wrong, she argued fiercely.
One day while Ms. Xu was in an argument with another vendor, she began to cry and wipe her tears. Everyone stopped and watched as this had never happened before. Everyone was sure she would bring her husband the next day to resume the fight. The next day, her husband did not come to the market. Instead, Ms. Xu apologized. Everyone commented, “Pretty soon we will see pigs flying in the sky.” Then someone whispered, “Ms. Xu is now practicing Falun Gong.” Apparently Falun Gong had transformed her for the better.
This might not be a significant event to society as a whole, but it became sensational news at the market. The whole market now knows that Ms. Xu practices Falun Gong and many have improved their opinions of Falun Gong. Ms. Hao remembered that Ms. Xu's husband had introduced Falun Gong to her. Although the two women were not friends, Ms. Xu gladly loaned her Falun Gong books.
Ms. Hao was immediately drawn to the books when she started to read them. She found them marvelous and decided to learn the Falun Gong exercises right away. In no time, Ms. Hao was free of all illness symptoms. Her husband wanted to make sure, so he asked her to have a checkup at a hospital. Ms. Hao told her husband, “I am perfectly well. There is no need for a physical exam.”
Ms. Hao’s older sister was apprehensive when she saw her becoming so involved in Falun Gong. Ms. Hao had previously made her sister tear up and throw away Falun Gong books when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999. She approached Ms. Hao’s husband and asked him to intervene. But he told her, “Falun Gong is wonderful. She is free of illness and has stopped swearing at people. She has even invited my mother to live with us. One day my mother threw a fit and scolded her, but she didn't talk back. If it had not been for Falun Gong, she would have fought back for sure.”
Now that Ms. Hao’s husband has witnessed her transformation, he is supportive of her decision to practice Falun Gong. He has even helped her clarify the truth about Falun Gong to her family and relatives, and persuade them to quit the CCP and/or its two affiliated student leagues. He helped her distribute materials containing important facts about Falun Gong. Ms. Hao's mood and temperament have both improved. Even her husband has been rewarded for his good deeds.
One foggy winter day, the visibility was poor, and Ms. Hao’s husband accidentally hit a woman crossing the street who was eight months pregnant. He was shocked and terrified. However, the woman and her baby were not harmed. Soon the woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy. It was not until he learned that the mother and the child were in good health, that he was able to let it go. He finally confessed to Ms. Hao what had happened and added, “If it had not been for Teacher’s protection, there would not have been enough money to compensate the woman even if we sold our apartment.”
One day Ms. Hao’s husband was driving his taxi in the pouring rain. He could hardly see the traffic on the opposite side of the road. As he was making a turn, he saw that he was about to hit another taxi, but both cars stopped. Just talking about the incident scares him. He knows that it was Teacher who safeguarded him from harm. He hurried home and told his wife what happened. This incident convinced him that Falun Gong can truly save people.
Ms. Hao’s mother is in her eighties. Ms. Hao played DVDs containing important facts about Falun Gong and the CCP's persecution for her mother and she agreed with the contents. She told Ms. Hao, “If you think Falun Gong is good, you should continue practicing Falun Gong. Pay no attention to what others say.” Her mother also decided to quit the CCP and its two affiliated student leagues. She has chosen a good future for herself.
