(Clearwisdom.net) I feel very sad whenever I see someone with a disability begging on the streets. I also have a disability, and if it were not my sister-in-law, who is a Falun Gong practitioner, then I would also be begging on the streets right now.

Since I was little I’ve had the disability of being very short and, as such, cannot do much work. My husband divorced me in 1988, and I went back to my parents' home with my four-month-old daughter. The day I got back, my younger brother was to be married to Xiaohua. I'd been home only a short while when I found out I was pregnant again. Right after I gave birth, my ex-husband took the baby away. I was so angry and worried that I became blind in both eyes from the stress. I had surgery and they removed one eye. I could not see clearly out of the other one even after the surgery. Misfortunes kept happening, and my mother died in 2000. Xiaohua told her right before she passed away to not worry about me, as she would take good care of me.

My relatives discussed how to take care of me, and my second oldest sister suggested that everyone in our family could take turns taking care of me. Her husband disagreed and neither of my older brothers wanted to take care of me, either. In that moment I felt unwanted and unloved. I was very sad. But a moment later, Xiaohua said, “My family's situation is the worst, but I'm a Falun Gong practitioner and my Teacher tells me to be a good person and do good things. Sister, if you don't mind, you can come to my home. Whatever we eat, you just eat with us, okay?” She was so kind—what could I say? I went to live with her family and felt at home.

But in today's society, even being a good person will get you into trouble. Xiaohua was illegally arrested and sent to a forced labor camp for practicing Falun Gong. I was very sad and hoped that she would return soon. After she was arrested, the entire burden fell on my brother. He didn't have much income and I couldn't do much, so our days became very difficult.

But the misfortunes just kept coming, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Just the exam itself cost a lot. All the money was borrowed from people my brother knew.

Xiaohua was released after six months, and she didn't complain to me at all. Instead she told me to not worry, that we would slowly repay our debts. She and my brother opened a small shop to make plaques. Because they are both very kind, the prices were reasonable, and the plaques were of great quality, the business made money. After several years, not only did they pay off all the debts, but they also had extra money in savings.

As a Falun Gong practitioner, Xiaohua always tries to become a better person, and she's very kind to my daughter and me. Our neighbors have all praised her and said that I'm very fortunate to have a sister-in-law who practices Falun Gong. I'm also very happy. Perhaps it is because I often recite the words that Xiaohua taught me --- “Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” that I have become so fortunate. My illness was cured without my even realizing it, and my now grown-up daughter has married, and both her husband and his family are great, too.

I'm now living very happily and worry-free with Xiaohua's family. I really appreciate her. She said that I received such good fortune because I believe in Falun Dafa. It is indeed Falun Dafa that has given me such good fortune, and I tell everyone that Falun Gong practitioners all good people and that Falun Dafa is good!
