(Clearwisdom.net) I did not recite Zhuan Falun before I was illegally imprisoned. During my imprisonment, I decided to work hard to recall the contents of Zhuan Falun in order to have the guidance of my cultivation practice. At that time, I thought that it would be pretty good if I could completely recall the first three sections of Lecture One of the Fa. However, two months later, I was able to recall more than 90 percent of the book, which was totally unexpected.
The more I recited, the more familiar I was with it. Sometimes I could recite three lectures of the Fa and never forgot it. By doing so, I understood the Fa more and my body changed greatly as well.
Like many other veteran practitioners, although I didn’t recite the Fa before, I had read it many times and had become very familiar with it. I often knew which word a practitioner misread or where he or she copied it incorrectly. Moreover, when I read one sentence, I was able to remember the next. After I finished reading one paragraph, I was able to remember the beginning of the next paragraph.
As I was recalling the Fa in prison, I relied on such memory and put more effort into memorizing paragraph by paragraph. Sometimes I was unable to remember a paragraph, so I skipped it and recited the next paragraph. Later I came back to the paragraph I had forgotten and finished reciting it. With the impression of the layout of the pages, I was able to remember where the paragraph was and where I had missed a sentence. As long as I worked hard to recall, I often was able to remember the Fa. Even a year after I was in prison, I sometimes inadvertently remembered the words I had missed when I was reciting in the prison.
When I later mentioned this experience to other practitioners, they were very surprised. In fact, for practitioners who are very familiar with the Fa and know which words are misread when other practitioners read, it will be very easy for that person to recite the Fa as long as he or she can calm down and put a little bit of effort into it.
Just like Teacher said in Zhuan Falun:
“While teaching the Fa, I am imprinting very powerful energy in your mind. You may not recall specifically what I have said after stepping outside the door, but when you actually encounter this issue, you will remember what I said.” (Zhuan Falun, 2000 version)
