(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of June 2011, Falun Gong practitioners in Victoria held a Falun Dafa workshop in Mildura. Several local media outlets covered the event.
Mildura is located in northwestern Victoria Province and is the origin of the Murray River, the longest river in the world. The workshop was held in the historic Magenta Woolshed of the Inland Botanic Gardens.
Mildura Weekly carries report introducing Falun Dafa
The local newspaper Mildura Weekly carried a report introducing Falun Dafa and promoting the workshop. The article also covered the persecution of Falun Dafa in China, and two Canadian legal experts’ investigation into claims about the Chinese Communist Party’s organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. The article introduced the first-hand experience of a local practitioner, Trisha Anderson, who recovered from a series of health problems including a gall bladder problem after practicing Falun Gong.
A local TV station, WIN TV dispatched a reporter to attend the workshop and the Sunraysia Daily also covered the event.
At the end of July, Falun Gong practitioners went to Mildura Central School to introduce Falun Gong and expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution in China. They taught the students how to make folded paper lotus flowers. A practitioner said, “Teaching students to make paper lotus flowers not only lets them experience the joy of learning, but also inspires them think of others, especially those who are not as fortunate as them.”
After making the paper lotus flowers, the practitioners taught the students the Falun Gong exercises outdoors. Many of the teachers and students commented that Falun Gong seems to be great for stress relief. One teacher invited the practitioners to participate in a birthday celebration at the school. The practitioners introduced Falun Gong to other teachers there. The teachers listened carefully and raised questions actively. They were indignant over the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
