Former Policeman: “My life has gone so well after I released a Falun Gong practitioner”

(Clearwisdom.net) A few days ago, I met a friend who used to be a policeman. We were talking about Falun Gong when he told me a story. This is what he said:

The year before last, we stopped a female Falun Gong practitioner in the market who was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to the Township Police Station. Since I was on duty, the director ordered me to watch her, and then he left.

The practitioner was forty years old and looked very kind. She was quite relaxed and did not seem to be afraid at all. I asked her why she distributed Falun Gong materials. She replied, “Falun Gong is a cultivation way in the Buddha School and teaches practitioners to be better people by conducting themselves according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Moreover, Falun Gong helps people become healthier. But the regime's media tries to defame Falun Gong and such a great practice is being wrongfully persecuted. We distribute Falun Gong materials to help people learn about the facts about the persecution and not be deceived. We want to restore the reputation of Falun Gong.”

Then she told me some stories of the wonders of Falun Gong and that good will be rewarded and evil will be punished.

I knew that Falun Gong practitioners had not committed any wrongdoings and that they try to be good people. Why do we arrest them? I said to her, “You are a nice lady. I will let you go.” She said, “If you let me go, what will you tell your boss?” I replied, “You do not have to worry about that.” Then I let her go.

Later, my director came back and asked me where the practitioner was. I said, “She is a nice woman. If we arrest her, we will be punished. So I let her go.” My director said that I was very audacious and what would we say if the upper-level department found out. I told him to say that she escaped when she went to the restroom. My director said, “Luckily, I have not reported her to the department yet. That's fine. We do not have to send her to the department.” He did not say anything else.

The practitioner later asked other people to thank me for helping her. Ever since I let the practitioner go, everything in my life has gone so well. I changed my job and got promoted. I know I'm being rewarded for helping Falun Gong practitioners.
