(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 12 provinces. As per this report, 15 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.

More than 10 agents from the Shuidong Police Station, the Guancaotian Police Station, and the Dianbai County 610 Office went to a practitioner’s residence on August 6, 2011. They ransacked the apartment and confiscated personal belongings, including Falun Gong books. The agents arrested two sister practitioners, another woman practitioner, and her three-year-old child. When one male practitioner heard the commotion and went to talk with the police, he was also arrested and taken to the Shuidong Police Station in the evening.

3. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Shen Rongxiang Missing

Ms. Shen Rongxiang has been missing since she went out to distribute truth-clarification materials in the countryside on the evening of August 6.

4. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Ye Yuanxiang’s Home Ransacked

Ms. Ye Yuanxiang is a 70-year-old practitioner in Niujiezhuang in a suburb of Kunming City. Five plainclothes agents from the Niujiezhuang Police Station went to her home on the morning of May 11, 2011. Without showing any search permit they ransacked her place and confiscated Falun Gong books, truth-clarification materials, and 700 yuan in bills that had truth-clarification messages written on them.

5. [Gejiu City, Yunnan Province] Retired Teacher Ms. Yang Shanwei Arrested and Home Ransacked

Ms. Yang Shanwei is a 69-year-old retired teacher from the elementary school affiliated with the Yunnan Tin Corporation in Gejiu City. Eight plainclothes police agents went to her home on the afternoon of June 21, 2011. Without presenting any permits they confiscated personal belongings including a computer, a printer, an MP3, an MP4, Falun Gong books, truth-clarification materials, an ID card, a bank deposit certificate, a salary check, lots of cash (including an antique paper money collection), a gold necklace, gold finger ring, gift cards, and a cell phone. They did not provide a receipt. In addition, the agents took Ms. Yang and her husband to the police station. Her husband was released soon afterwards, but Ms. Yang remains in the Guandu District Detention Center.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ye Hongxia Transferred to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Ye Hongxia, a practitioner in the Nanbao Development Zone of Tangshan City, was sent to the Kaiping Labor Camp in Tangshan City in November 2010. She was transferred to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Labor Camp in mid-June 2011.

7. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Geng Sufeng, Mr. Ma Qingyuan, and Mr. Zhang Zhongren Still Detained

Wu Zhongqi and other police agents from the Haizhou Domestic Security Division in Fuxin City arrested five practitioners on April 21, 2011. Two of them have been released, but Ms. Geng Sufeng, Mr. Ma Qingyuan, and Mr. Zhang Zhongren are still detained.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Changlan Arrested and Sent to Labor Camp

Ms. Wang Changlan, a 67-year-old Dandong City practitioner, went to Beijing on vacation on July 29, 2011, with her husband, daughter, and daughter-in-law. State Security Bureau agents arrested her at a Beijing hotel and sentenced her to three years of forced labor. She is now in the Beijing Forced Labor Camp.

9. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Zhanlong Town Practitioner Ms. Chen Xuejun of Puning City, Guangdong Province, Arrested on August 5 at Her Son’s Home

10. [Beijing] Ms. Xiang Junzhan in the Sunyi County Detention Center

Ms. Xiang Junzhan, a 53-year-old retired worker, lives in Miyun County, Beijing. When she clarified the truth on June 26 someone reported her to the police. Agents from the Miyun State Security Division arrested her and held her in the Shunyi Detention Center. Nothing has been heard about her since then.

11. [Yongxing County, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Taken to the Longxing City Brainwashing Center

Officials from the Yongxing County Political and Judicial Committee, along with local 610 Office agents, have arrested many practitioners since July 18 and secretly taken them to the Longxing City Brainwashing Center. These practitioners include Ms. Cao Linfang, Ms. Cao Shuiju, Ms. Man Yue, Ms. Chen Wulian, Ms. Li Manju, Ms. Cao Mannu, Ms. Li Jianfeng, Ms. Li Jianqiong, Ms. Xu Guocui, and Ms. Zhu Qiufa. Ms. Cao Linfang went on a hunger strike for six days and was in a life-threatening condition.

13. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Update Regarding the Arrests of Mr. Chen Kaixiang, Ms. Zhang Wuzhen, and Ms. Sha Honggang

Li Jiang, head of the Da County State Security Bureau in Dazhou City, accompanied by more than 20 police agents, went to practitioner Mr. Chen Kaixiang’s home on the afternoon of July 4. They swore at him, ransacked the home and arrested Mr. Chen and his wife, Ms. Zhang Wuzhen. The following personal belongings were confiscated: Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, copies of Minghui Weekly, and an incense burner.

When Ms. Sha Honggang came home after work, the police went to her home, arrested her, and took away the following belongings: Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, Shen Yun DVDs, truth-clarification materials including the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, truth-clarification materials, and one computer.

Ms. Zhang was released later that day. Mr. Chen was detained for two weeks, and Ms. Sha was detained for 30 days.

14. [Beijing] Ms. Mu Meishu Arrested in Beijing

Ms. Mu Meishu is a practitioner in Qingdao City, Shandong Province. She took a train to Beijing on the afternoon of August 4 and was arrested at a hotel on the morning of August 5.

Police arrested Mulan County practitioners Ms. Xie Yulan and Ms. Chen Fengying when they clarified truth in the county seat on August 6. They are now at the Mulan County Detention Center.

16. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shuyan Currently in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zhang Shuyan from Jilin City was arrested in the residential area of the Jilin Refrigerator Factory. Her heart disease recurred during the detention, and she was sent to the No. 465 Hospital for treatment. Ms. Zhang is currently in Division 3 of Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City and still receives IV injections.

17. [Wanquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Zhenfang Arrested and Tortured on the Tiger Bench

Ms. Wu Zhenfang from Shenjingbao Village, Kongjiazhuang Town, Wanquan County, was arrested by local Domestic Security Division agents on the afternoon of July 10, 2011. Ms. Wu was at home alone. The agents ransacked her home and confiscated a notebook computer, a printer, a DVD writer, a DVD player, and a stereo. They also took away personal belongings from her son (a learning machine and 1,300 yuan in savings), and her daughter's keepsakes (a wedding DVD, photo DVD, a cell phone, and a charger). The agents even took the several one-yuan bills they found under a bed.

Ms. Wu was taken to the local criminal police division at 7 p.m. that evening. She was tortured on the Tiger Bench for a day and night and sent to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center on the afternoon of July 13.

20. [Chongqing] Ms. Fang Min and Ms. Fang Ping Leave Home to Avoid Persecution

Ms. Fang Min from Sanjiang Town, Qijiang County, Chongqing, became severely disoriented due to persecution at the Shimahe Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing. After she was released on medical parole in May 2010, officials threatened her husband and her son. Her husband divorced her. Although her condition improved after returning home, she was harassed again in July 2011 and pressured to write the Three Statements to give up her practice. She decided to stay away from home in order to avoid further persecution.

Officials from the Qijiang County Political and Judicial Committee harassed another Qijiang County practitioner, Ms. Fang Ping, in July 2011. They attempted to force her to sign the Three Statements and threatened to send her to a brainwashing center. She did not give in, but decided to leave home to avoid further harassment.

21. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Qinglian Arrested

After Ms. Li Qinglian left home to avoid further persecution, police arrested her in Anyang City on the afternoon of June 29, 2011. She escaped and went to Xinxiang City, where police arrested her again.
