An old man in his seventies from Fengjiashan, Baiguo Township of Macheng recalled the event:
One day in April 2001, he and a few villagers went to collect Ms. Wang Huajun’s body (Wang Huajun was from their village). They found knife wounds in Ms. Wang’s neck and the clothes on the front of her body were destroyed from being burned, but the clothing on her back was intact. Because they were surrounded by police and local officials, out of fear, the villagers did not dare say anything. It was obvious that Wang Huajun’s body had been burned while lying on the ground, dying. She absolutely did not burn herself to death.
It was not until years later that the people of Baiguo Township dared talk about it in private... That Wang Huajun was murdered by Chinese communist regime agents. The truth of the young mother’s murder sent shivers down the spines of everyone who heard the facts. The villagers feel the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is extremely brutal and wicked.
Ms. Wang Huajun was unlawfully arrested on April 18, 2001, while clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to people in the downtown area of Macheng. She was taken to the local police department and subjected to brutal torture until she was close to death. During the night, the unconscious Wang Huajun was carried to the Jinqiao Square, located next to the local municipal government building and set on fire by police. In fact, around 1:30 p.m. that day, the whole of Macheng was put under curfew and no traffic was allowed. The next day, news spread that a Falun Gong practitioner allegedly “burned herself” beyond recognition in front of the municipal government building. However, witnesses later said that when she was first set on fire, Wang Huajun was lying on the ground, and she reacted to the fire and moved, struggling to get up. The frightened police standing around panicked, fearing that she might shout out. However, by then Ms. Wang, who was already dying from torture, was too weak to get up.
When the fire died out, witnesses saw that the front of her body was parched from burning, but the back of her body remained untouched by the fire. There were deep knife wounds to her throat and the back of her head! It is obvious that the CCP police slit her throat before they set her on fire, fearing that she might cry out.
When she was murdered, Ms. Wang was only 30 years old, and a mother of two young children. She was still alive when she was set on fire and burned to death at Jinqiao Square next to the local municipal government building, simply because she was a Falun Gong practitioner. By 2002, a number of Falun Gong practitioners from Macheng City had died as a result of persecution, including Li Xuechun, Heng Xingzong, Li Jiju, and others.
