They knocked on the door, but Ms. Li didn't open it. The police then forced their way in. Qui Xueyan and a man from Kunming Intermediate Court took Ms. Li away, leaving her 88-year-old, sick and bedridden mother behind.

Ms. Li was taken to the Kunming Intermediate Court, where a closed court session was held. Ms. Li told the judge, “Believing in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and being a good person is not wrong. I haven't committed any crime. Having secret court sessions is a violation of the constitution and the law. You are violating the law instead of enforcing it. You are the real criminals.” The hearing was adjourned, and Ms. Li was later allowed to return home.

Since the persecution started in July, 1999, Ms. Li has been unlawfully arrested ten times. She has been detained and interrogated four times, her home has been ransacked four times, she has been taken to a brainwashing center once and has been sentenced once. She has also been deprived of her retirement benefits, causing her family great financial difficulty.
