Hungary: Scenes Depicting Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners Re-enacted at Vörösmarty Square in Budapest

(Clearwisdom.net) July 20, 2011, marks twelve years since the Chinese Communist Party launched the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. On Saturday July 16, 2011, practitioners re-enacted some torture scenes which depicted actual torture methods used on Falun Dafa practitioners in China. The re-enactment was held at one of the most popular places in Budapest, Hungary: Vörösmarty Square. The persecution continues to this day in China.

Through this re-enactment event, we would like to call people's attention to the crimes against humanity which are happening today, and help people to realize that this is not China’s internal affair, but a circumstance which affects the whole world, and in our country, is forcing everyone to take sides. Proof of this statement was evidenced during the visit of China’s Prime Minister, when we were not allowed to express our views (see: http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/world/hungary-bans-falun-gong-protest-of-wen-jiabaos-visit-58068.html).

According to our experiences, the passersby were interested and deeply touched by our re-enactment. For many people, personal memories were stirred up. One person told us what it was like seeing the tanks at Tiananmen Square trample the demonstrators. An elderly woman mentioned that she herself was persecuted by the Hungarian communists. There were also a few people who stayed with us for hours, trying to understand the inconceivable.
