(Clearwisdom.net) On September 3, 2011, in front of the State Capitol Building in Lansing, the capital of Michigan, Chinese people from several groups in the Greater Detroit area held a rally to celebrate more than 100 million Chinese people quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

Participants held signs and display boards carrying messages in both Chinese and English, reading “Call for Justice and Conscience,” “Celebrate 100 Million People Quitting the CCP Organizations,” and similar sentiments to announce the important news to passersby.
Republican Party Presidential Candidate: “The defection from tyranny is gaining momentum”
Michigan Representative Mr. Thaddeus G. McCotter, a Republican Party presidential candidate, sent a congratulatory letter to the rally. He stated, “I am compelled by freedom to stand with the people who have peacefully quit the Chinese Communist Party and their noble campaign that seeks to condemn the scourge of communism and encourage the development of attitudes which foster human rights, such as freedom of speech, religion, and conscience. Since 2004, more than 100 million Chinese citizens have bravely and publicly disassociated themselves from the Chinese Communist Party. No doubt, the defection from tyranny is gaining momentum.
“The Chinese People are on the precipice of an important choice. They can choose to stand on the side of justice, leaving a clean and honorable name for history, or to compromise with the despicable Chinese Communist Party and be shamefully remembered forever. Leading by noble example, Falun Gong practitioners are principled and determined, and, while they have suffered, they have also saved many lives.
“It is the responsibility and duty of free Americans to stand with those who yearn to be free. I am privileged to honor the bravery of those who have had the courage to publicly step forward and denounce the stifling oppression of communism and embrace the ideals of freedom and liberty.”
Vietnamese American Community Leader: Break from the CCP, Strive for a Wonderful Future

Mr. Fan Wenqing, vice president for Foreign Affairs of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese American Community, spoke at the rally.
He said that he supported the “Quit the CCP” movement for the Chinese people. “Today, we also initiated a 'Quit the Party' movement for the Vietnamese people, calling everyone to abandon the Vietnamese Communist Party. We will exhort righteous and upright citizens in China and Vietnam to break from the crimes committed by the CCP and the Vietnamese Communist Party, and strive for a more wonderful future.”
Michigan Falun Dafa Association Chairman: Quitting the CCP Is a Choice of Conscience
Dr. Xu, chairman of the Michigan Falun Dafa Association said, “Cultivators are bound to give up desires for power in the human world. Falun Gong practitioners clarify the truth and help people quit the CCP organizations. Their aim is to stop the persecution and expose the true nature of the CCP, in order to help those who have been deceived by its lies to see the CCP clearly for what it is. Falun Gong practitioners tell people about the CCP persecution of Falun Gong, and that Heaven will eliminate the CCP. Their goal to save people.
“The persecution is still ongoing, and Falun Gong practitioners are still being persecuted. Risking their lives, the practitioners have unconditionally clarified the facts about Falun Gong to the Chinese people, helped them quit the CCP for their own safety, and helped them learn the truth laid out in the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. It is a manifestation of their compassion and unselfishness. What they expect to see is that more people's consciences are awakened and that more people make a wise decision and are saved.”
Overseas Chinese Students Quit the CCP Organizations
Two overseas Chinese students who came to the U.S. to study not long ago showed interest in the rally and stopped to listen to the speeches. They had their photos taken with the rally in the background.
A volunteer from the Service Center for Quitting the CCP walked up to them and asked if they knew that more than 100 million Chinese people had quit the CCP organizations. When they said that they didn't, they were given more information about the CCP's atrocities and evilness and ultimately announced their resignations from the Youth League, a CCP organization. Before leaving they said they would tell their families and friends what they had learned.
Tourists Show Support
An elderly couple from Florida passed by and the man said, “The Chinese people finally realize that they should get rid of this monstrosity.”
Mr. Kasim Omer Aziz is a visiting Iraqi scholar. He and a professor from the University of Michigan walked to the State Capitol. It was the first time that he had heard that 100 million Chinese people have quit the CCP organizations. He said that it is a human right to pursue and enjoy freedom and that it's Chinese people's freedom to break from the CCP.
