(Clearwisdom.net) Jiang is the husband of a fellow practitioner. He is in his 80s. Having witnessed how she benefited both physically and mentally from the practice, he has a positive opinion of Falun Dafa. In early 2010 he was admitted to the hospital because of a stroke, and he became paralyzed. After only a year he was able to walk from the fifth floor all the way down to a nearby park, and was able to look after himself.
My mother is 75 years old and has been practicing Dafa for many years. About two years ago she had a stroke and had difficulty using half of her body.
My mother is younger than Mr. Jiang, and she is also a practitioner. Why did she recover much more slowly than an ordinary person? I never developed any negative thoughts towards Dafa, but I lost confidence in my mother. I always dreamed that she was getting better. Sometimes I blamed myself for not giving her enough care and help. Sometimes I blamed other practitioners for not helping her. These bad thoughts often affected me.
Today the fellow practitioner visited me and told me her husband’s story: At that time, he was very sick and the doctor said that he would be paralyzed. Because she was a senior citizen, and all of their children were out of town, it would have been very hard for her to look after him all by herself.
She then told her husband that only our Master could save him, and she asked him to say, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Her husband agreed and he recited it until he went into the operating room. All the doctors heard it.
After the operation, when he regained consciousness, he recited it again. After he was released from the hospital, he recited it every day and he recovered very soon. He could walk by himself after about a year.
How many ordinary people dare recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in public? I understood why he recovered so quickly. It was because he was rewarded for his righteous thoughts towards Dafa.
When I looked back on my mom’s situation, I realized that she had lots of loopholes. She had a strong attachment of fear. Although she didn’t take any medication, and refused to go to the hospital, she didn’t act like a practitioner and lost confidence in Dafa.
As practitioners, we cannot hold on to humanness with one hand and not let it go, and at the same time hold on to Buddhahood with the other hand and not let go. When the real tribulation comes, the old, evil forces will not give you any chances. The standard is always there; don’t miss the opportunity.
