The Joy of Obtaining Dafa in Tribulation
I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1998. My mother lost her life in an electricity-related accident when I was five years old. My father was swindled out of all his property by his second wife and then he suffered from serious illnesses. I had to quit school and go to work in order to pay my younger brother’s tuition to school. I put all my hopes into getting married. However, after I got married, I was informed that my mother-in-law was embarrassed by their debts. My husband and I fought a lot and he was often abusive. The series of heavy blows left me deeply depressed. I was in an abyss of utter despair.
My cousin brought me a copy of Zhuan Falun in January 1998. The more I read it, the more astounded I was. It felt like each of my cells was pulsating. I spent the whole night reading the book, except for the hour I slept. After reading it, the resentments and grievances that were stacked up in my heart all disappeared. I was full of joy and gratitude. Even when I look back to that moment, I still feel the warmth and energy that enveloped me.
I got up very early the following day and went to the exercise site after finishing all the housework. My husband was very supportive of my practicing cultivation. He held our daughter and watched me at a distance when I did the exercises. My family started to embrace happiness and harmony. I also upgraded my xinxing quickly throughout studying the Fa regularly.
Living Every Moment According to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance
I felt some intangible pressure overwhelming me after the communist regime began the persecution of Falun Gong. One day I was thinking that what Master has taught us, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, was true and that there was nothing wrong with my decision to practice it. My husband said, “You are good when others say that you are good, and you are not good when others say that you are bad. Is that true?” I understood immediately that Master was giving me a hint through my husband’s words. I read Zhuan Falun again and again, and I enlightened that I should let people know how wonderful Dafa is.
My husband has dozens of relatives. Every one was upset over his mother’s debts. I discussed this with him, and we decided to sell our house. With the money we made, we not only paid off all his mother’s debts, but we also bought his parents a house. We then moved to live in our store. This caused a great sensation in our local area. I often mentioned it when chatting with people and told them, “I wouldn’t have done this if I didn’t practice Falun Gong.”
Telling People the Truth about Falun Gong
Our store's business continued to improve as I treated each customer with sincerity. I started to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to customers. Besides studying and reciting the Fa and doing the exercises, I wholeheartedly devoted myself to telling people the facts about Dafa every day. The more I clarified the truth, the more wisdom Master gave me. During the past years, more than 10,000 people have visited my store, and almost every customer has learned the truth.
I clarified the truth wherever I went. But my husband was afraid of the communist regime’s persecution and felt the pressure. It happened more than once that he kicked over a desk or a bowl to stop me from clarifying the truth to customers in our store. Once he exploded with rage, asking me, “Do you know who he is?” I realized that the customer was from the police station and felt a little afraid at that moment. But immediately Master’s words came to my mind,
“If you are a true practitioner, our Falun will safeguard you. I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe.” ("Lecture One" in Zhuan Falun)
I quickly calmed my mind and continued telling the customer the facts. The customer felt my compassion and came to understand the true situation.
I helped dozens of people, including my neighbors and friends, quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations after practitioners began helping people withdraw from the CCP’s organizations. However, I didn’t know how to declare it online. I mentally asked Master for help, and soon a fellow practitioner came to my store and assisted me. The practitioner also offered me Master’s new lectures and different truth-clarifying materials.
Practitioners in another area were short of truth-clarifying materials. I then took charge of delivering materials to them. Although it was far away and I had to take a long-distance bus, I did it every week. Sometimes my daughter came with me. I carried a large bag and she took a small one. During that time I experienced some miraculous things. For instance, once it was very dark after I finished delivering all the materials. The bus came as soon as I got to the bus stop. I thought that I had just happened to catch the bus on time. After chatting with the bus driver, however, I learned that the bus was nearly two hours late, as if it had come just for me.
Righteous Thoughts Manifested Miraculous Power
I once went to clarify the truth to a relative with another practitioner. We kept on sending forth righteous thoughts on the way there. We also left Falun Gong materials for each apartment in that building. After we left, the police came and checked door by door for practitioners.
On another occasion, by sending forth righteous thoughts, I successfully printed copies of truth-clarifying letters in a copy shop several times. Later I went to another copy shop. When the copying was half done, the clerk reported to her boss that the letter had Falun Gong content. The boss immediately stopped the copy machine. I kept sending righteous thoughts. Meanwhile, I mentally asked Master for help. I went to the boss and got the letter back. The boss stood still and did not react. I quickly left the copy shop. Afterward I looked inward and found that it was the result of my attachment of fear.
I once went to a train station and the security officers asked the passengers to open their belongings so they could search them. I had several truth-clarifying booklets in my bag. I sent forth righteous thoughts continuously. Later an officer dragged me out of the line and said, “Hurry up and go inside. You don’t need to go through the safety inspection.”
A practitioner living near me was arrested. Her husband was under intense pressure and informed me that the materials I had delivered were also confiscated by the police. I closed my store and kept sending righteous thoughts until midnight. The next day I told other practitioners about this. We exposed the persecution online, sent truth-clarification letters to the police station officials, and sent forth righteous thoughts near the police station. Twelve days later, the practitioner was released and returned home.
One day my husband’s friend told him that the police planned to arrest me and suggested that he hide the Falun Gong materials somewhere. My husband hurriedly hid the materials in a tree outside of our store. I was upset about it and sent righteous thoughts all night long. I mentally said to Master, “I do not recognize any of this. I will not give the evil any opportunity. Everything of mine is determined and arrangement by Master.” My husband’s friend called him the following morning, saying, “The police car will soon arrive at your store.” I was not affected and focused on sending righteous thoughts. The police walked around outside my store for a long time and then left. Our business carried on as usual and no customers noticed this.
Revered Master often arranged for people to remind me before things happened. I also strengthened my righteous belief and experienced the miraculous power of righteous thoughts eliminating the evil from sending forth righteous thoughts. Master said,
“Let me tell you, all those who remain and that can persecute Dafa and Dafa disciples are due to our students themselves. Students who haven't taken sending forth righteous thoughts seriously: the evil in the dimensions that you are supposed to shoulder and be responsible for has not been eliminated. That's the cause. So you must take sending forth righteous thoughts seriously. No matter whether you think you have the ability or not, you should do it.” (“Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.”)
Master also taught us,
“When the Dafa disciples' righteous thoughts are a bit stronger, everything will be changed by the Dafa disciples and the evil will be eliminated. Then what will the bad people amount to? Aren't those few bad people doing these things under the evil's control? When the evil is eliminated and you stand in front of that person, will he dare to say a single negative word [about Dafa] to you? Facing a god, he won't dare.” (“Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005”)
I take an hour off to send forth righteous thoughts every day. If all of us take sending forth righteous thoughts seriously, do well in the dimensions that we are responsible for, and form one body, the evil will be soon eliminated completely.
