(Clearwisdom.net) On July 2, 2011, policemen from the Domestic Security Group of the Qingyang Police Department branch office in the Xifeng District ransacked Ms. Chang Xiuling's home without a warrant and arrested her. They took a computer and other personal belongings from her home. On July 31, 2011, without any legal procedures, Ms. Chang was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. She was sent to the Liugouhe Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Yuzhong County, Gansu Province.
Ms. Chang Xiuling's entire family started to practice Falun Gong in 1996, and they lived their lives by the standards of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Falun Gong elevated the morals and values of her entire family. Ms. Chang and her mother-in-law used to have frequent disagreements and quarrels about insignificant matters. After learning Falun Gong, they stopped arguing about personal gain or losses and used Falun Gong as the guideline when disagreements arose. Their hearts and minds became tranquil and their worries disappeared. Her whole family was immersed in harmony and happiness.
On July 20, 1999, the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong. The Police Department branch office in Xifeng followed the doctrines of the CCP and disregarded the basic human rights of the citizens. They arrested Ms. Chang's husband, Mr. Zhang Zhirong, many times and sentenced him to prison without following any legal process. At the same time, Ms. Chang was harassed and monitored by policemen from the Police Department branch office in Xifeng and the Nanjie Police Station in the Xifeng District. Ms. Chang's husband, Mr. Liu Zhirong, was persecuted at Tianshui Prison. He was brutally tortured and passed away there on January 9, 2006, at the age of only 42.
In April 2001, the Police Department branch office in Xifeng arrested Ms. Chang because she was caught speaking the truth about Falun Gong in public. She was detained at the Xifeng Detention Center for one month. In recent years, during the CCP's “sensitive” events and holidays, personnel from the Nanjie neighborhood office would use the excuse that “the government cares and is thinking of her” to interfere with her life. For instance, Ms. Chang, following local customs, made a plan to have the burial ceremony for her husband on Tomb Sweeping Day in 2006. Ms. Chang invited her relatives and Mr. Liu's close friends. On the day of the burial, the Nanjie neighborhood office sent two employees over to interfere with the ceremony. During the 2008 summer Olympic Games in Beijing, many people had “talks” with Ms. Chang. The “talks” were used as a means to monitor and threaten her.
On the evening of July 1, 2011, officers Li Jinlong, Zhu Changsuo, Hu Zhijun, Gao Xingover and others, a group totaling over twenty policemen from the Police Department branch office in Xifeng, forced their way into Ms. Chang's home while she was visiting her mother. On July 2, 2011, they ransacked Ms. Chang's home but did not find any Falun Gong books or related materials. She was detained in the Ning County Detention Center. Later she was sentenced to one year of forced labor and sent to Liugouhe Women’s Labor Camp in Yuzhong County, Gansu Province.
Presently, her seventy-year-old mother-in-law and her two school-aged children are at home without income and have no one to care for them.
