Additional Persecution News from China – January 18, 2012 (9 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in nine cities or counties and in five provinces. According to this report, seven practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least ten practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yanji, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Changhua and Others Illegally Sentenced

Ms. Li Changhua, Ms. Li Changli, and Ms. Zhu Yanwen were each sentenced to three years in prison; Ms. Dong Guizhi to five years. The four practitioners are currently in the Dunhua Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Shuhui Arrested

Ms. Wang Shuhui was arrested the afternoon of January 1, 2012, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Domestic Security Division Officers Have Extorted Huge Amounts of Money from Two Practitioners

Mr. Shi Feng, Ms. Zhao Guiping, and Ms. Wu Guiyun were arrested on December 19, 2011. Participating in the arrests were officers from the Yi County Domestic Security Division, the Daohe Township Police Station head, and others from the Liulonggou Township Police Station. The perpetrators took two computers and printers, a sedan car, and 15,700 yuan earned from selling corn. Mr. Shi and Ms. Wu were released once the Yi County Domestic Security Division officers had extorted 50,000 yuan from them. Ms. Zhao is currently in the Jinzhou City Detention Center and in solitary confinement.

4. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Elderly Practitioners Mr. Guo Huibin and Ms. Feng Shifen Arrested

About seven plainclothes police officers from Miyi County Court, the Domestic Security Division, and the Binggu Police Station went to Mr. Guo Huibin's home in Xiaohe Village, Binggu Town, the evening of January 12, 2012. They arrested Mr. Guo and Ms. Feng Shifen and ransacked their home.

5. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Mr. Xin Jianwu

Mr. Xin Jianwu from Xinji City was arrested the morning of January 13, 2012. His home was ransacked the evening of January 14, and his computer was confiscated. Mr. Xin is currently in the Xinji City Detention Center.

6. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Yunbo and Ms. Yu Fenglong Arrested

Mr. Yu Yunbo and Ms. Yu Fenglong from Tiantai Township were arrested the morning of January 17, 2012, as they spoke with people about Falun Gong.

7. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Jing Arrested

Ms. Wang Jing from the Maiji District was arrested on January 16, 2012, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong. She is currently held in the Maiji District Police Department's State Security Division.

8. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Sufang and Ms. Xiao Suying Arrested

Ms. Yang Sufang, 62, and Ms. Xiao Sufang, in her 60s, from the Chuanshan District were arrested on January 9, 2012, as they spoke with people about Falun Gong in Longsheng Town, Daying County. The two practitioners also had their homes ransacked. Ms. Xiao's Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated.

Ms. Zhang Jie from the Wanghua District was arrested on January 14, 2012. She is currently in the Nangou Detention Center.
