(Minghui.org) On October 11, Siying Gu, director of the Epoch Times (ET) Eastern Canada, and Shaojiu Wang, CEO of New Tang Dynasty TV (NTD) Canada, were both awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of their efforts to expose human rights abuses in China, in particular about the persecution of Falun Gong and the atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

Falun Gong Practitioners Recognized for Exposing CCP Persecution
In honor of the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the Canadian government presents the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to recognize residents who have made important contributions to society. Falun Gong practitioners Siying Gu and Shaojiu Wang were recognized for their outstanding work in exposing the atrocities of the Chinese Communist Party and providing Canadians important news and information, and for their contribution Canada's playing a leading role in international human rights affairs.
The Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness nominated Gu and Wang for the award. Sanderson Layng, VP and Chief Operating Officer of the Center, said that they were the most qualified people among those that he knew. He commented that service provided by the Epoch Times and New Tang Dynasty TV were good examples, which made Canada a better place.
Layng said that ET and NTD exposed torture and abuses in China and helped Canada in playing its leading role in international human rights affairs. Like the Centre for Abuse Awareness, ET and NTD help people learn about and ponder such issues, and thus influence their actions.
In her acceptance speech, Gu said: “This award is a recognition of the Epoch Times' Eastern Canada courageous reporting of the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights atrocities. Our achievement was made possible because we have the courage to investigate and report on this subject in depth, attracting more and more readers.”
Shaojiu Wang said: “While this award is presented to individuals, I am accepting the award on behalf of New Tang Dynasty TV Canada. This award recognizes that the Canadian people and the federal government value our work on human rights in China, especially about the atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Today, the political situation in China is moving very fast and Chinese people deserve the right to know the truth. Only when they know the truth, can they make a right choice for their own future.”
Because of their in-depth reports on human rights in China, the Epoch Times and New Tang Dynasty TV have been growing very fast.
Epoch Times Grows with Their In-depth Reports on the Situation in China
The “Wang Lijun” case this past February triggered a shakeout of the Chinese Communist Regime and China is now a focal point of the world's media. Among all the media, the Epoch Times is the most prominent in its category because of its timely reporting and analysis. Their accurate, in-depth reports have attracted a huge readership. Gu said that the click rate of the Epoch Times website has increased from 1 million to 6 million due to its reports on China.
According to Gu, the key reason that readers choose the Epoch Times is because the paper dares to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s suppression and persecution of everyday Chinese people, including the persecution of Falun Gong and the atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.
Besides in-depth reports on China, the Epoch Times Eastern Canada also provides local Chinese rich local news and abundant information on immigration, education, community life and more.
“We are in fact the largest Chinese language newspaper in Canada,” said Gu, “Distribution of the Epoch Times Eastern Canada was recently audited by the Canadian Circulations Audit Board and we are the only Chinese language newspaper which has newspaper distribution audited. We are the daily newspaper in Chinese.
“On issues in China and Chinese community in Eastern Canada, almost all mainstream media at least cited our reports once. This includes The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, CBC, CTV, Macleans, etc. No other Chinese language newspapers have achieved this.”
New Tang Dynasty TV Grows into a Multiple Language TV
Shaojiu Wang, CEO of New Tang Dynasty TV Canada, said that since last March Canadian families have been able to receive NTD signals with programming in four languages. “Our programs play an important role in shaping people’s view on China. We systematically report on the Chinese Communist Party’s atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and these stories deeply touch the hearts of many Canadians. Compared to other human rights abuses, organ harvesting is overwhelming. Therefore, many audience members comment that our work is very important. Harvesting organs from living people is a crime against humanity and everyone should be concerned about it.”
“When all Chinese people stand up against the tyranny of the Communist Party and say no to its persecution, China will march in a healthy direction. NTD wants to provide a platform of truth about China at this historic moment,” said Wang.
