Additional Persecution News from China – September 21, 2012 (21 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in ten provinces. In the report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Luannan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Shaozhou and Ms. Guo Shurong Arrested

Ms. Ma Shaozhou and Ms. Guo Shurong were taken to the Luannan County Police Department on the evening of September 17, 2012. Ms. Guo is being held in police custody, and Ms. Ma is being held in a detention center.

2. [Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province] Ms. Xie Guifang Arrested

Ms. Xie Guifang from 404 Ltd. of China National Nuclear Corporation was arrested last week.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Kaiqin Arrested

Ms. Wu Kaiqin from Chengyang District, Qingdao City and another practitioner went to Xifu Town, Chengyang District to hand out informational materials about Falun Gong on September 17, 2012. She was consequently arrested by officers from the Xifu Town Police Station. The other practitioner managed to escape. Four officers from the Chengyang Police Station took the key from Ms. Wu and broke into her home with it. They ransacked the home and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials, DVDs and other items. Ms. Wu was held in the Xifu Town Police Station. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wei Xingzhi Held with Extended Term

Ms. Wei Xingzhi's prison term was over on November 29, 2011. However, the Wuhan City Women's Prison authorities extended her term for another year with the pretense that she refused to be “transformed.” Family visits have not been allowed for the past few years.

Ms. Wei, over 60, has been tortured by cruel methods in Wuhan City Women's Prison from April of this year. In order to forcibly “transform” her and make her write the “Three Statements” to give up Falun Gong, guards including Xiang Ling have tortured her with various cruel methods, including depriving her of food and water, not allowing her to use the toilet so that she had to pass urine and stool in her pants, depriving her of sleep, and forcing her to stand in the snow barefoot for several days straight in the winter. Her feet became swollen, and she was not even able to squat afterwards to relieve the pain. She has become emaciated as a result of the torture.

5. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Peitu Taken to Detention Center on the Evening of September 18, 2012

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Chunhui Held in Detention Center

Nine officers from the Qijia Police Station in Shuangyang and the Shuangyang Police Department broke into Ms. Yu Chunhui's home on the morning of September 18, 2012, ransacked it and arrested Ms. Yu. They ransacked Ms. Qi's home again the next morning. Ms. Yu is being held in the Changchun City No.3 Detention Center. Family visits are not being allowed.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Xiaohui and Ms. Song Lihui Arrested

Ms. Ma Xiaohiu and Ms. Song Lihui were arrested at their homes on the morning of September 18, 2012.

8. [Yueyang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Chen Qixian Arrested

Ms. Chen Qixian, Ms. Chen Liangui and Ms. Pei Yuan were arrested by officers from the Raocun Township Police Station on the evening of September 11, 2012 for hanging up banners with “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” or “Falun Dafa is Good” written on them. They were interrogated and released after two hours.

Officers from the police station and village officers arrested Ms. Chen Qixian (71 years old) again on September 13, 2012, and held her in Yueyang County. They also went to elderly Ms. Chen Liangui's and Ms. Pei Yuan's homes and attempted to arrest them. They did not succeed since Ms. Chen and Ms. Pei were not home. They then confiscated Ms. Chen's Falun Gong books and informational materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Chen and Ms. Pei had to stay away from their homes in order to avoid further persecution.

9. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Gao Yanling Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Gao Yanling were arrested on August 30, 2012. They are still being held in a brainwashing center.

10. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ning Lanqing Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Ning Lanqing from Neijiang City was arrested by officers from the Wanlipo Police Station in Neijiang City on May 18, 2012. She was sent to the Shizhongqu Detention Center in Neijing City that evening. After May 30, she was transferred to the Neijiang Brainwashing Center and has been held there ever since.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Yunying Arrested

Ms. Zhou Yunying from Jinzhou New District, Dalian City is in her 60's. She was arrested and taken to the Guangming Police Station on the morning of September 15, 2012 for handing out informational materials and explaining the facts about Falun Gong. Guard Liu violently beat her. She was sent to the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City at around 5 p.m. that evening. She was not admitted since she had failed repeated physical examinations. Her family took her home at around 8 p.m. that evening.

12. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Heyin Arrested

Mr. Zhang Heyin from Qiaotou, Taocheng District, Hengshui City was arrested and taken to the Hengshui City Detention Center by plainclothes officers from the Qianyaotou Town Police Station in Shenzhou City for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on the afternoon of September 19, 2012.

13. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shen Xijia Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Shen Xijia from Zibo City was recently sent to a forced labor camp by officers in Zibo City.

Mr. Shen was sentenced to eight years in 2002 and was imprisoned in the Shandong Provincial Prison. He was released in 2010. On April 25, 2012, Mr. Shen and other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Kuiwen District Police Department in Weifang City. He was held there for 30 days and was released after his family was forced to pay 10,000 yuan.

14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Juxiang Held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zheng Juxiang disappeared in Dalian City in May 2012. It has now been confirmed that she is being held in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She has been severely tortured.

15. [Lanshan County, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhou Fangjun and His Wife Ms. Zhu Arrested

Mr. Zhou Fangjun and his wife Ms. Zhu were arrested on September 16, 2012. There is no one looking after their son, who is attending primary school. Ms. Zhou was earlier taken to a brainwashing center in December, 2011.

16. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Shumin and Ms. Bi Arrested

Ms. Zhu Shumin, a physician at the Department of Clinical Laboratories, Xintai City People's Hospital, was arrested at her workplace by police officers from Xintai City on September 12, 2012. She is being held in the Xintai City Detention Center.

Ms. Bi from the Longting Middle School in Xintai City was also arrested a few days ago. She has not been released.

17. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Dong Wenxiang and His Wife Ms. Wu Yuhong Arrested

Officers, including deputy director Liu Haizhi from the Yi County Police Department Domestic Security Division, barged into Mr. Dong Wenxiang's home on the afternoon of September 20, 2012. They arrested Mr. Dong and his wife Ms. Wu Yuhong, and then took them to Jinzhou.

18. [Pulandian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yanhua Held in Jinjiajie Drug Rehabilitation Center

Ms. Wang Yanhua from Sanshilibao Town, Pulandian, Dalian City was arrested on September 15, 2012. She was held in the Pulandian Detention Center, and later transferred to the Jinjiajie Drug Rehabilitation Center (used as a detention center) in Dalian City.

19. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Many Practitioners Persecuted in Zhuli Brainwashing Center in Hanting District

Mr. Sun Kaoyi and his wife Ms. Li Shuhong from Sunjiayangmeng Village, Hanting District were arrested on September 6, 2012. Mr. Sun was sent to the Zhuli Brainwashing Center in Hanting District. Ms. Li was sent to the Weifang City Detention Center.

Ms. Yu Suzhen from Hetan Town, Hanting District was sent to the Zhuli Brainwashing Center after her forced labor term was over.

Mr. Wu Chuanzhong from Yangjiabu, Hanting District was tortured in the Zhuli Brainwashing Center this April by officers from the Hanting District Domestic Security Division. His hands were first pulled behind his back and cuffed together. Then officers pulled him up by the cuffs, and pushed his back downward with their feet simultaneously. He was in excruciating pain.

Ms. Li Xiyun from Weibei was also sent to the Zhuli Brainwashing Center in April and subjected to brainwashing and psychological torture for an extended period.

20. [Daozhen County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Tu Jian Arrested

Mr. Tu Jian from Daozhen Gelao and Miao Autonomous County was arrested by local officers for explaining facts about Falun Gong on September 6, 2012. He is being held in a local detention center.

In 2006, Mr. Tu was sentenced to three years in prison.

21. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhou Jiafu and His Wife Ms. Bai Guixia Arrested

Officers from the Dongshan Police Station barged into Mr. Zhou Jiafu's home in Hegang City and arrested him on the afternoon of September 20, 2012. His wife Ms. Bai Guixia picked up their child and went home. She was then also arrested by officers, who had been waiting for her at their home. Their home was subsequently ransacked, and Mr. Zhou and Ms. Bai are being held in the police station.
