Zhang Zhusan from Huanghua City in Hebei Illegally Sentenced

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhusan from Luqiao Town, Huanghua City, Hebei Province was illegally sentenced to three years in prison. Another practitioner from the same village, Ms. Liu Yuying, was arrested at the same time and, in May, sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp.

On the afternoon of February 22, 2012, Mr. Zhang and Ms. Liu were talking to people about Falun Dafa in a neighboring village giving away Shen Yun DVDs, when they were arrested by police officers from Luqiao Town Police Station.

An eye witness said that one police officer in plain clothes, Gao Ruyan, along with five officers from Luqiao Town Police Station, arrested the two practitioners. A local citizen said to Gao, “All of us are from the same village. How about letting them go?” In an angry tone, Gao said, “If you want to defend them, we will arrest you too.” The practitioners were first taken to the Luqiao Town Police Station. By around eleven o'clock in the evening they were sent to the Huanghua Police Department.

On the morning of February 24, 2012, family members of Mr. Zhang and Ms. Liu went to Huanghua Police Department. They were told that the officers in charge were in a meeting. Before they went to the police department, Ms. Liu's family members learned that she was being kept isolated in a room on the second floor. When they inquired about it they were told that she had left. The commander of the Domestic Security Division, Cao Fengsheng, said that Mr. Zhang was at the Huanghua Detention Center and Ms. Liu was at Cangzhou First Detention Center. Cao also indicated that he was just carrying out orders. Ms. Liu's family members needed to go to Cangzhou to find her.

On the morning of March 5, 2012, family members of Mr. Zhang went to the Domestic Security Division in Huanghua Police Department and Cao Fengsheng told them that Mr. Zhang had been arrested by the Luqiao Town Police Station. Hence, they needed to talk to the officers there. When the family members went to the Luqiao Town Police Station, the officers said that Mr. Zhang was no longer with them and they did not explain to the family members legally who was in charge.

After three months, Ms. Liu was sentenced illegally to one year in the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Zhang was still held at the Huanghua Detention Center but Cao Fengsheng did not let his family members see him or explain why he was kept there for so long.

Without informing his family members, the Huanghua City Court held a hearing and sentenced Mr. Zhang to three years in prison. On September 17, 2012, the Huanghua Detention Center notified Zhang's family members of the sentence. On the morning of September 18, 2012, Zhang Jiakai of the Huanghua Detention Center called Mr. Zhang's family members and told them that he was imprisoned at the Tangshan Jidong Prison.

According to another report, several years ago Mr. Zhang was illegally sentenced to four years in Tianjin Gangbei Prison and he was tortured while in that prison.
