(Minghui.org) I am writing this article to share my experiences about cultivation practice. Please kindly point out any shortcomings.
It has been about six years since I began assisting with installation of satellite dishes that enable people in China to watch the programs on New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV). At first, I got involved with this project because I was interested and curious about how the satellite worked. Gradually, I realized that installation of this satellite dish had a far deeper meaning and purpose. In the beginning of my work with the project, I would feel happy if the installation was successful and frustrated if I encountered setbacks. Now, sometimes when I see a satellite dish that I installed, I feel that it is waving and smiling at me because it has a spirit, too. It struck me how the satellite brings news about Dafa and that NTDTV programming is from the heavens. I was excited and decided to do my very best installing these satellite dishes. During the early days of working on this project, I met with all kinds of obstacles, especially from my family. Since I was working outside, if my family did not support me, how could I do things correctly, without worries? Therefore, thanks to the support of my wife and other fellow practitioners, I have been able to do this work well for several years.
I have to take a lot of tools with me to install a satellite dish. I have to go upstairs and downstairs and walk long distances. Regardless of the weather conditions, I would forbear and complete my job. I had no concern for happiness, bitterness, gain or loss. Sometimes I got sarcastic comments, but it didn’t matter to me. What I am doing is the best thing and the path that I am walking is not wrong. At the start, I was merely interested in the mechanics of installing satellite dishes; now, I am using righteous thoughts from studying the Fa and I fully realize my responsibility in doing this important work.
In order to do well with satellite dish installations, I must commit to studying the Fa and practicing the exercises diligently every day. I can’t be lazy. I always keep righteous thoughts in my mind. This also helps the family I am assisting with installation. Sometimes, if I feel too proud, I tell myself that I should regard myself as a regular worker. I am just doing my job and trying to do it well. I have this ability, so Master has arranged for me to do this job. I must complete it well. It is not acceptable if I do not do a good job.
Over the past years, I cannot remember how many satellite dishes I have installed. I have met many people along the way and experienced many miraculous things. One time I was in a hurry to install a satellite dish, but the signal was not at a satisfactory level and there were no images on the TV. After ten days, I went to the house again. My fellow practitioner told me that he could get a good signal after sending forth righteous thoughts. He did not know anything about adjusting the satellite dish, but it worked after sending forth righteous thoughts for three days. How miraculous! That is the power of righteous thoughts.
One time I installed a satellite dish for an elderly practitioner who I thought knew nothing about technology. Therefore, when I ran into some problems, I tried to figure it out by myself. When I could not seem to fix it, the fellow practitioner said, “Why not try switching those two plug-ins?” I did as he suggested and it worked! This helped me realize that I must use righteous thoughts instead of my human notions about my fellow practitioners. I found that sometimes, the problem will not be solved if I only rely on technology. Whenever there is a problem, I should study the Fa well and look within myself. I must keep on installing the satellite dishes and find a way to do this more effectively and efficiently.
