(Minghui.org) Today's news from China include incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 22 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Yingqiong Arrested

Ms. Xu Yingqiong is a teacher in the No.2 Middle School of Laiyuan County. She was arrested on October 14, 2012. She was apparently reported to the police by a student's parent after she clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in her class.

2. [Jingzhou, Hubei Province] Mr. Feng Feng Tortured in Fanjiatai Prison

Mr. Feng Feng was beaten last year by prisoners who were instigated by prison guards. His chest was injured and he was bedridden for more than 10 days. This year, the guards encouraged the prisoners to beat him again. They tied him up and beat him badly. Mr. Feng was put into a metal cage not long ago, and was placed in solitary confinement for 15 days. He is now in the prison clinic and is very weak.

Mr. Fu Wanhua, sentenced to seven years, is also detained in the same prison.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zong Cheng Tortured, Causing Nerve Damage to His Right Leg

Mr. Zong Cheng was confined in a solitary cell after he held a hunger strike to protest the mistreatment. He was forced to sit on a metal chair with both of his arms stretched out to the side and his hands cuffed. He was forced to stay in this position without moving for an entire day while being force fed through an inserted tube. In order to make him unbearably thirsty and increase his suffering, the substance he was “fed” was heavily salted corn porridge. After he was released from solitary confinement, he lost feeling in his right leg.

4. [Guilin City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] 610 Office Holds Brainwashing Session Again to Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners

Guilin 610 Office arrested several practitioners recently and put them in a brainwashing session. Five of the practitioners are from Quanzhou County including Mr. Deng Quan, Mr. Lin Juxiong, and several are from Lipu. The 610 Office is extorting from 10,000 to 20,000 yuan from each practitioner or his employer to “pay” for the brainwashing.

5. [ Tangyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Dongmei Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Dongmei from Daying State Farm was arrested in September 2012 and sent to Qinglongshan Brainwashing Center in Jiansanjiang. Wang Dong from State Farm Court and Chen Xiaoping from the 610 Office were behind her arrest.

6. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Mr. Xing Yazhong and His Wife Yajuan Arrested

Mr. Xing Yazhong and his wife, Ms. Yajuan, were arrested on the morning of October 13 by Dufu Police Station officers. Someone reported them when they clarified the facts about Falun Gong. Due to their family's efforts, they were released the next afternoon.

7. [Wenan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Zhenming Detained

Mr. Liu Zhenming from Zhaoge Town was arrested on October 9, 2012, by several officers from the Domestic Security Division and the police department. They took his truth-clarifying CDs, MP3 player, and other belongings. Mr. Liu is currently detained in Wenan Detention Center.

8. [ Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] At Least Six Practitioners Detained

At least six practitioners are being held in Jiaozhou Detention Center. They are: Mr. Pan Mingjie from Ligezhuang Town, Ms. Sun Shuying from Qingdao City, two practitioners from Jiaodong Town, and others.

Mr. Zhang Baosheng, Mr. Zhao Yuan, and Mr. Wang Jinyu were arrested on September 20, 2011, and sentenced to prison. They were detained in Hulan Prison. It was recently learned that they have scabies all over their bodies and are in miserable physical condition.

Ms. Wang Fenghua and Ms. Wang Xinyan were arrested on the morning of October 15, 2012, when they clarified the truth about Falun Gong in Anxin County. Later that evening, Renqiu Domestic Security Division and Yanshandao Police Station officers raided Ms. Wang Fenghua's home. They took her PC, computer, printer, and other personal belongings.

Six or seven Domestic Security Division police went to Ms. Wang Xinyan's parents home on the morning of October 16. They videotaped her parent's home and forced Ms. Wang's mother to take them to her daughter's home, leaving her paralyzed father alone at home. Ms. Wang's father is bedridden and needs his wife's constant attention.

Ms. Qu Liling clarified the truth about Falun Gong to two male students who reported her to the police. Ms. Qu had to leave home on June 3, 2012. On June 5, the same two students threw a rock at the window of her home, breaking it. The stone just barely missed her 70-year-old husband's head. Due to the shock, her husband had a heart attack. After getting medical treatment, he was finally able to take care of himself.
