Solemn Declaration
I started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. I was held in a detention center for 37 days when the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999. The police verbally abused and beat me during the interrogation in an attempt to force me to write a “confession.” I did not write anything because I believed that practicing Falun Gong was for health and fitness and, therefore, not wrong. When I returned home, the Residential Committee personnel and local police officers came to my home and pressured me to sign the guarantee statement that they wrote to renounce Dafa, guaranteeing that I would not practice. They threatened me, saying, “If you don't sign it and turn in your Falun Gong books, you will have to take full responsibility for all the consequences.” I signed the statement and burned the Dafa books because I didn't have a deep understanding of the Fa. I was afraid...afraid of being sent to the forced labor camp, afraid of getting my children involved, and for other reasons. I solemnly declare, “Everything I have said and done that are not in accordance with Dafa principles are null and void. I will do more Fa study and exercises. I will do the three things well, cultivate diligently, let go of all human attachments, and return home with Teacher.”

Solemn Declaration
I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong on April 25, 2001. I was illegally detained at the end of May 2003. The guards put me in handcuffs and shackles and tied me to a cement stool for two days. One month later, I was transferred to a brainwashing center. I was transferred to another brainwashing center two months later. I compromised due to the extremely painful situation and wrote the three statements against my will. I even gave them information on some fellow practitioners, letting Teacher and fellow practitioners down. I solemnly declare, “The three statements that I wrote while deceived and being brutally persecuted are null and void. In order to help others see the evilness of the Chinese Communist Party, I will disclose its evil deeds. I will make up for the loss I have caused, cultivate Dafa steadfastly, and do the three things well.”
