(Minghui.org) The Jianshui County Court in Yunnan Province secretly tried six Falun Gong practitioners on November 22, 2012. The practitioners included Mr. Ma Xuyong, Ms. Wang Hui, Ms. Yang Liwen, Ms. Zhang Yanyun, Ms. Zhang Liyun, and Ms. Wan Guifen. They were not allowed to defend themselves during the trial.
On November 30, the court sentenced Mr. Ma Xuyong to nine years in prison; his wife, Ms. Wang Hui, to four years in prison; and the other four practitioners each to three years in prison. All six practitioners appealed to a higher court.
Mr. Ma, Ms. Wang, and Ms. Yang were employed by the Jianshui County Industrial and Commercial Bank. They were forced to accept a buy-out offer simply because they practiced Falun Gong. With permission from bank leaders He Yonggang and Li Xuemei, officers from the Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Ma, Ms. Wang, and Ms. Yang on May 4, 2012. The police confiscated a DVD burner, a brand-new laptop computer, and some cash from Mr. Ma's home. They also confiscated a brand-new laptop computer, some cash, and other personal belongings from Ms. Yang's home.
