Additional Persecution News from China – December 17, 2012 (21 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 18 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shahe, Hebei Province] Mr. Dou Pingjun Arrested

Mr. Dou Pingjun, a retired teacher from Shahe, was coming out of a bank when three policemen jumped on him and arrested him at noon on May 26, 2012. This caused Mr. Dou to have a heart attack; he could not move for half an hour.

Hou Shouhong and other officers from the Shahe Domestic Security Division confiscated 7,200 yuan in cash that Mr. Dou had on him, along with his other personal belongings.

2. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Ms. Cai Ying Arrested and Monitored

Ms. Cai Ying was arrested by the Tibet State Security Bureau agents on August 29, 2012. Since her release, she has been monitored by the Qingdao 610 Office.

3. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Wenjun Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Mr. Li Wenjun was recently sentenced to five years in prison.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Sun Guiping, Ms. Han Caixia and Ms. Ran Congju Arrested

Ms. Sun Guiping, Ms. Han Caixia and Ms. Ran Congju were arrested and taken to the Banqiao Town Police Station on the morning on December 4, 2012. Police extorted 1,000 yuan in cash from each of the practitioners before releasing them.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yumei Detained

Ms. Zhu Yumei is being held in the Changning Detention Center.

6. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Yongsheng Detained

Mr. Liu Yongsheng is being held in Room A06 of the Xinjing Detention Center.

7. [Beijing] Mr. Yan Dong and Ms. Zhuang Yanhong Sentenced to Forced Labor

Mr. Yan Dong, a lecturer from Beijing Industry University, was arrested by police on November 8, 2012. He has been sentenced to two years of a forced labor.

Ms. Zhuang Yanhong, also a lecturer from Beijing Industry University, was arrested by police on November 18, 2012. She has been sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor.

8. [Hulin, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yu Jiyou and Ms. Xu Guihong Put on Trial

Mr. Yu Jiyou and Ms. Xu Guihong, from Dongfanghong Town, were arrested on July 20, 2012. They have been held in the Dongfanghong Forestry Bureau Detention Center. They were put on trial on December 14, 2012.

9. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Detained for Over Six Months

Mr. Cheng Lei, Mr. Wang Hongliang and Ms. Zhang (from Shulan, Jilin Province) were arrested between the end of May and June 15, 2012, while working in Guangzhou. They have been detained in the Yuexiu Detention Center in Guangzhou for over half a year.

10. [Ximeng, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wang Jizhong Arrested

Mr. Wang Jizhong was arrested at home on the afternoon of December 14, 2012, by officers from the local police station and Domestic Security Bureau. Police confiscated informational materials about Falun Gong, as well as the Falun Gong founder's photo.

11. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Update on Ms. Xu Jiamei's Imprisonment

Ms. Xu Jianmei was sentenced to six years of imprisonment and is currently detained in Guangzhou Prison. She is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2012.

12. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Changshun Tortured in Dalian Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Yu Changshun was tortured while detained in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp. As a result, he is not able to move his legs or take care of himself. The labor camp is planning to take him to the hospital on December 25, 2012.

13. [Pengzhou, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Yonggang Arrested

Mr. Li Yonggang from Xibei Village, Longfeng Town, was arrested at home by officers from the Danjingshan Police Station on the afternoon of December 16, 2012.

14. [Guanghan, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Mingying and Ms. Liu Qianfeng Arrested

Ms. Zhao Mingying and Ms. Liu Qianfeng were arrested on December 14, 2012.

15. [Boye County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhai Linya Arrested

Ms. Zhai Linya was arrested at his second daughter's home in Shijiazhuang on December 16, 2012.

16. [Hailin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaoyan Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Zhang Xiaoyan from the Dahailin Forestry Bureau was arrested while handing out informational materials about Falun Gong. She has been sentenced to three years in prison.

17. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Shengqin Arrested

Ms. Wang Shengqin gave calendars with the words “Falun Dafa is good” printed on them to her students on the morning of December 11, 2012. She was reported to the authorities and arrested by police the same day. She was taken from her classroom to the Youyi Road Police Station and then transferred to the Tianta Street Police Station in the afternoon. On the way there, police stopped at her home and ransacked it. Ms. Wang was later released.

18. [Linyi, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Mingxiang and Ms. Yu Peiling Tried in Court

Ms. Wang Mingxiang and Ms. Yu Peiling were put on trial in Donghai County on December 10, 2012.

19. [Jinzhai County, Anhui Province] Three Practitioners Detained for Over Four Months

Ms. Du jilian, Mr. Chen Xiwen, Mr. Hu Hongzhi, Ms. Zhou Meizhi, Ms. Huzhang Aifang, Ms. Liu Jinping and four other practitioners were arrested on August 6, 2012. Their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Du and Ms. Liu were taken to the Liuan Detention Center by personnel from the Jinzhai County Police Department; they are currently detained there. Mr. Chen is being held in the Jinzhai County Detention Center.

20. [Donggang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guiqing Detained

Ms. Sun Guiqing from Taoyuan Village, Xincheng District, was recently arrested at home. Her home was ransacked, and her computer and other personal belongings confiscated. Ms. Sun is being held in the Dandong Detention Center.

21. [Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Ming Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Li Ming was arrested in early November 2012. His current whereabouts are unknown.
