(Clearwisdom.net) At the most recent group study in our city, we had a sharing about the developments on the situation with Wang Lijun and Bo Xilai, both culprits of massive crimes against Falun Gong practitioners, and at the center of the current power struggle within the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The sharing made me understand more strongly the importance of using this event to clarify the truth, and I'd like to recap some of the points here.
When I first read Master's latest article "The Ultimate Objective of Clarifying the Truth", I wondered to myself about the significance of the article. Master doesn't teach the Fa casually and only releases new scriptures when there is something necessary for us to enlighten to as a whole body. My thoughts were that the article was a general reminder to clarify the truth well, as perhaps we had slacked off in our efforts. After last week's group study, a number of practitioners asked others' understandings on the article and the deeper meaning behind it. Only then did someone point out the fact that Master's article was released the same day as the Wang Lijun incident.
When I learned about the Wang Lijun affair, I understood the seriousness of it and the opportunities it brought to our truth-clarification. But I had forgotten about Master's new scripture. Master says,
"The emergence of the Communist Party and the CCP’s real goal is to have people hate Gods and Buddhas, to propagate atheism, to instill a philosophy of 'struggle,' and to thereby destroy humankind. And this is the reason Dafa disciples are to clarify the truth. The goal is to get rid of the evil’s lies, to enable people to see the CCP’s true face, to clear away the sins committed by people against Gods and Buddhas, and to thereby save the world’s people." ("The Ultimate Objective of Clarifying the Truth")
We know that practitioners at the media companies have been covering this story heavily, and Chinese practitioners have been using it in truth-clarification, yet the interference has been tremendous. Some practitioners shared that this could be the surface event that leads to the end of the CCP. Yet it's not an easy story to tell.
Past examples in history have shown that any major social or political change takes a process. The event that was the trigger for that process oftentimes doesn't immediately cause the general public to react as a whole. But as the public comes to understand the series of events as they play out, one by one, their thinking changes and this provides the momentum for change. That's in regards to ordinary events. The fall of the CCP, however, is a different matter. Master has said that if the number of people to be saved were this many, it wouldn't take more than a day for the CCP to collapse. The fact that this process is playing out means that an opportunity to save beings is being placed right before us.
We should use this opportunity to inform ourselves about what's happening, cooperate together, and inform others as much as possible. As we inform the public inside and outside of China, and as they are able to digest the details that emerge and the further events that break, they will be able to “see the CCP's true face" and make a good choice for themselves. But the key is that we actually inform people about what has happened, step by step. If they don't hear what's happening, or don't understand it, they won't be able to make that choice. Similarly, if we don't know or understand what is going on, we won't be able to have the maximum effect saving sentient beings.
One practitioner shared about a man in Chinatown who has stubbornly held onto the CCP's propaganda, and has constantly condemned Falun Gong for the past 12-plus years. After reading the stories about the Wang Lijun affair in The Epoch Times, he immediately quit the CCP. What information he read on the surface that triggered him to change his mind isn't clear, and it might not even matter. What is clear is: this event is powerful. It is for saving people.
The problem is, while people outside of China at least have access to news about this event, the people in China do not. Another practitioner shared that, having talked to practitioners who had made calls to China – to Beijing and to other regions – people simply haven't heard the news. Practitioners in our area have recently put together materials for phone calls to China about the affair. If the beings in China don't know what's going on in their own country, it's going to be more difficult to have the same effect as what happened to the man in Chinatown.
Some Additional Points on the CCP's Internal Struggle
To give the public a better understanding of the significance of these events, they need to understand how the CCP operates. Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party is an excellent foundation. Here are some additional points discussed at the group study that relate to recent events and that have helped me to understand the importance of the incident better.
When a high-level CCP official lashes out against another high-level CCP official accusing him of corruption, it is not solely a matter of corruption. They're all corrupt – that's how most of them got into their positions in the first place. But the reason they do this is for a power grab – to bring down someone who is part of a different political faction. The official making the accusation won't target the official in the highest position of a specific group, but will attack the person below him, drawing battle lines between factions.
With Wang Lijun going to the U.S. Consulate and betraying Bo Xilai, one perspective is that he is actually going after Bo's superior – Zhou Yongkang, one of the four principal individuals involved in implementing the persecution of Falun Gong, who is part of Jiang's group, and who still has power on the nine-member CCP Politburo Standing Committee (PSC). Bo, Zhou, and the others who have followed Jiang by participating in the persecution of Falun Gong to gain political favor have much more to lose than their posts. Their crimes are enormous.
The CCP's congress is later in the year, and the majority of the PSC is scheduled to step down. Those who have a role in the persecution are trying to place people in their posts who already have blood on their hands, so that they will be protected. They are shaking in their boots.
With all of the infighting, we don't know what will happen. In the past, practitioners were attached to the results of CCP congresses and the situation turned negative. So we shouldn't be attached. But it does help to understand how the system works, so that we can be more effective in clarifying the truth: pinpointing who has a hand in the persecution, and how the system in itself is corrupt.
Thank you to the practitioners for sharing at the group study, and I hope that the above is helpful. Let's work together to maximize the opportunities this event brings to clarify the truth by doing a good job at informing the public about these events as they come up, and doing our best to make what's happening more understandable to people.
