Persecution of Practitioners in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province in 2011

(Clearwisdom.net) Officials from the Yancheng City 610 Office and Domestic Security Division have continued to persecute practitioners in 2011 and to this day. Below is a partial account of some of the known cases.

Ms. Xu Lan is a practitioner in Zhenghong Town, Binhai County. Officials from the Domestic Security Division and Zhenghong Police Station illegally arrested her at home on November 8, 2011. After holding her at a village office building, they sent her to the Tongyu Police Station and then transferred her to the Binhai Detention Center on November 11, 2011. After one month of detention, Ms. Xu was sent to the Judong Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province with a term of 18 months. Officials did not notify her family.

Yancheng City practitioner Ms. Zhong Xiufeng was arrested and sent to the Yancheng Detention Center on the afternoon of October 7, 2011. She was released on October 24, but then sent to a brainwashing center on November 10, 2011.

Ye Bin, Funing County 610 Office deputy head, and other agents from the Funing County 610 Office went to the home of practitioner Ms. Miao Ping in September 2011 and attempted to force her to write statements promising to give up practicing Falun Gong. When Ms. Miao refused, officials attempted to arrest her. Later, a security camera was installed in front of her home to monitor her.

Ye Bin and other agents also arrested Funing practitioner Ms. Hang Xiaoying on August 15, 2011. When Ms. Hang did not cooperate with the arrest, Ye Bin called in more than 10 agents, who handcuffed her and took her to the Xinghua Brainwashing Center. After Ms. Hang was released, agents from the local 610 Office and Domestic Security Division continued to harass her repeatedly. Agent Cao Hengpei from the 610 Office also installed a security camera in front of her home to monitor her.

Mr. Qian Fengcheng, a 73-year-old practitioner from Xinxing Town of Yancheng City, filed several lawsuits against the police, detailing the persecution enacted against her. Agents from the Wenfeng Police Station arrested her at home on July 10, 2011, and sent her to a brainwashing center.

Yandu District 610 Office agents sent practitioner Ms. Yan Lin, who works at Yandu District Skin Disease Institute in Yancheng City, and 68-year-old practitioner Ms. Wang Cuiying to the brainwashing center at Wanlong Hotel in Yancheng City on July 1, 2011. Both practitioners have been detained there ever since.

Ms. Song Guangfen, a practitioner from Xinyang Farm, was abused at the brainwashing center at Wanlong Hotel in June 2011.

Ms. Chen Yanqing, a practitioner from Tinghu District in Yancheng City, was arrested at home on April 25, 2011. More than 10 police agents participated in the arrest and also ransacked her home. Agents detained her at Yancheng Normal University and abused her. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Ye Bin led some 610 Office agents to measure the surroundings and take photos of several practitioners' homes, including those of Ms. Liu Xiuyun, Ms. Chen Xiuzhen and Ms. Chen Xiumei. The 610 Office agents also harassed practitioner Ms. Li Qing.

Officials from the Sheyang County Political and Judicial Bureau in Jiangsu Province ordered Xingqiao Town officials to intensify the persecution of practitioners in March 2011. Agents from the Xingqiao government, police station, and judicial office complied to further abuse practitioners. They detained Ms. Wu Hongyu for one day and ransacked Ms. Bo Ruixia's home. They have also pressured them to write statements promising to give up practicing Falun Gong and threatened to send them to a brainwashing center.

Sheyang County practitioner Mr. Fei Qunwen was arrested in February 2011 and is still detained in a detention center.
