(Clearwisdom.net) The Shandong First Prison, which is located in Jinan, Shandong Province, detained about 100 Falun Gong practitioners in 2010 and 2011. The guards in the Eleventh Prison Division tortured them brutally. They did not allow the practitioners to sleep or make phone calls. They beat and punished them at will.
Following are excerpts from accounts of persecution occurring between January and August 2011:
Electric fans continually blew air directly on Mr. Shao Chengluo to the point that his arms and legs ached, and he experienced severe pain in his finger and toe joints.
Electric fans continually blew air directly on Mr. Wang Hongzhang until he had a heart attack. He was unable to move his legs on the way to the hospital.
Mr. Sun Zongxu and Mr. Jiang Guobo were force-fed.
Mr. Shi Zenglei was beaten until wounds covered his entire body. A vertebrae was broken in his neck, and he had to have a steel rod implanted for support.
Mr. Xu Hongbin was forced to stand up all night without sleep. As soon as he closed his eyes, he was awakened. As a result of severe sleep deprivation, his vision became blurred and he lost 10 pounds. He was released in July 2011 after being detained for 19 months.
Prison guards incited criminal prisoners to beat Mr. Kang Jianxin, Mr. Li Lei, Mr. Dai Zongqiu, and Mr. Duan Libei for almost three hours. On the verge of death, Mr. Dai was released in June 2011.
Other practitioners were beaten and punished in other ways to different extents.
