(Clearwisdom.net) Outstanding teacher Sun Yuzhen from the Third Middle School in Laixi City benefited from Falun Gong physically and mentally after she started to practice and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was arrested on March 19, 2003, and was brutally tortured with handcuffing and hanging, force feeding, etc., which endangered her life. On June 20, 2006, at noon, she was arrested again in front of her school entrance and was illegally sentenced to four years in prison. In 2008, she was fired by the Laixi City Education Bureau. Below is Sun Yuzhen's own description of these events.

1. I Had Many Illnesses before Cultivating Falun Gong

I am a former teacher at the Third Middle School in Laixi, Qingdao City. I had many illnesses due to suffering from cold when my child was born in 1984. My whole body hurt. I was weak and had gastritis, frequent colds, chronic rhinitis, severe neurasthenia, and gynecological problems. I was only a little over 20 years old then and I was in pain every day. I still needed to go to work and take care of my child. I was exhausted every day and I could not do much housework.

2. After Practicing Falun Dafa, I Became Kind and Willing to Help Others and Benefitted Greatly

In order to cure my illnesses, I practiced many qigong systems, but none of them worked. Someone suggested to me later that I practice Falun Gong. I did not believe him and did not want to learn it. In 1998, due to someone's repeated recommendation, I agreed to give it a try. After only 20 days, the results of practicing Falun Gong were very good. Within half a year, all the illnesses that had tortured me for 12 years all disappeared. I truly experienced the feeling of being without any illness, and my whole body was light. Before, I needed both hands to hold a pan while cooking; now I can lift two big bottles of water at the same time. Before I frequently had colds. Since I have been practicing Falun Gong, I have never had a cold for the past 13 years. I can use cold water to wash my head even when it is ten degrees below zero. Before I was afraid of eating fruit even in summer. Now I can eat cold and hard foods.

By studying the Fa, I understood that I needed to not only practice the exercises, but to also cultivate my xinxing to be a true practitioner. I followed the principles taught in the Dafa books and was strict with myself about everything, always following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” I thought of others first when doing things and looked inward when conflicts happened. I did not fight with others over personal interests and did not complain. I did almost all the housework. Before, I got really tired just washing a few clothes. Now I could easily wash two big baskets of clothes. When I was sick before, I went back to my mother's home and laid on the bed doing nothing at all. When it was time to eat, my younger sister had to hold a basin of water in front of me so I could wash my hands. Now I do the cooking, cleaning, and washing all by myself.

I was also strict with myself at work. After I became a cultivator of Falun Gong, I understood how to be a good person. I worked diligently and did not pursue self-interest and fame. The classes I taught ranked near the top compared to the same type of classes around the city. (I taught middle school math at first, and then I was transferred to the Third High School to teach geography). In the office, I got the hot water, cleaned the floor, set the fire in the stove, and washed the towels. Before I only focused on my students' getting good scores while teaching the class and only cared about the students who had good scores. After I practiced Falun Gong, I treated all the students the same and cared about them. The students all agreed that I was a good teacher.

At work, I tried my best to help the younger teachers without reservation. I helped other teachers by teaching classes when they were out. Falun Gong taught me to consider others first when doing things.

But evil Jiang Zemin insisted on persecuting Falun Gong due to his jealousy. I was arrested and persecuted many times because I did not give up my belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Today I want to recount in detail the persecution I was subjected to.

3. Police in Laixi Colluded with My School to Persecute Me

On July 20, 1999, I was in an outside area for studying. After I returned home, a family member told me that the school had called me again and again, asking me to come to the school. It was the summer vacation at the time. I heard that it was a higher level authority that wanted to force me to write the guarantee statement to give up Falun Gong. I did not go. Local police later came to my home again and again to harass me and threatened my family members to pressure me to write the letter.

In October 2000, my school was having school sports games. Officer Su Yuejian from the Xiagezhuang Police Station a a dozen officers came to school to harass me, saying they were “investigating” something. I told them the truth, “I had many years of sickness and suffering, and nobody cared about me. Now I am healthy. You come to harass me frequently, but no one can keep me from telling the truth.” Although the harassment ended, it had a negative effect on the schoolteachers and students.

As the persecution intensified, the horrible TV programs slandering Falun Gong were shown again and again. I thought the government was wrong, and I wanted to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, but I was arrested in the Wangcheng Train Station by station police. They did not allow me to speak and kicked me. A senior couple from Zhaoyuan were also arrested with me. One of them said, “My wife had many illnesses before. After she practiced Falun Gong, all them disappeared. Why can't we practice Falun Gong? We need to find the right place to ask.” After he spoke just a few words, the police slapped his face back and forth. I told the policeman to stop beating the old man, who also warned the officer that it would not do himself any good. But the policeman hit the man even harder. He also said, “You are not allowed to speak. If you speak, I'll slap your face. I don't believe I will die before you. I will beat you to death first.” Later, officials from Zhaoyuan came to take the older couple away. I was taken to the Laixi Police Department. As he entered the room, Shao Jun, the Political Protection Section head, handcuffed me behind my back with one hand pushed down over my shoulder behind my back to meet the other hand pulled behind my back from the bottom. A few hours later when my family members arrived at the police department, he released my arm from over my shoulder, but still kept my hands handcuffed together behind my back and then attached the handcuffs to an iron pipe. The next day, he threatened that if I did not write the guarantee statement to give up Falun Gong, they would send me to a forced labor camp. I asked what law I broke and why I was arrested for just waiting at the train station. Later, my family members were forced to write the so-called “guarantee statement.” Beginning the summer of 2000, school officials started to restrict my freedom and did not allow me to leave the school.

In March 2001 during the evil Chinese Communist Party's National People's Congress and People's Political Consultative Conference, the dean and the deputy dean of my school deceived me by claiming that there was going to be a professional lecture and asked me to go hear it. I was, instead, taken to a brainwashing center and detained. As soon as I entered the brainwashing center, the dean acknowledged that he had deceived me and told me it was his superior's idea. But the head of the 610 Office, Wang Xiuhua, said, “We didn't want you to come. Your school really wanted to send you here.” They clearly knew they were doing bad things, but they shifted the blame on each other. I was detained in the brainwashing center and persecuted for 19 days. I was either forced to watch videos slandering Dafa and Master, or was brainwashed by groups of people. I was followed 24 hours every day even when I went to the restroom. They only had one goal, which was to force me to give up being a good person.

4. Detained in a Forced Labor Camp and Detention Center, Sentenced to Prison

On July 6, 2001, in the morning, two officers from Xiagezhuang Police Station came to my home, arrested me, and took me to the Laixi Police Department. Then the police, with Shen Tao in charge, sent me to the Wangcun Brainwashing Center. This brainwashing center was more evil than Laixi Brainwashing Center. They not only pressured us to write the guarantee statement to give up practicing Falun Gong, but also ordered us to write and perform a program praising the evil CCP and slandering Dafa. They saw I would not cooperate at all, so they detained me at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp to persecute. For 19 days in a row, I was forced to sit on a small bench for 17 to 18 hours every day and was only allowed to sleep after 11 p.m. Then I was forced to get up at 5 a.m. the next morning. I was detained at the Wangcun Brainwashing Center and Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for over 70 days. The forced labor camp also extorted over 7,000 yuan from my family.

On March 19, 2003, when I went returned from the market, I was arrested again by Xiagezhuang Police Station officers, who took me directly to the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City. 25 days later, police official Shen Tao took me again to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. I was brutally tortured in the forced labor camp for 14 months. (This was recounted on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website).

In the forced labor camp, the instructor did not allow me to go to the restroom. Initially they gave me a barrel. But later they only allowed me to go to the restroom twice a day. I was only allowed to defecate at night. Once, the instructor did not allow me to go to the restroom for several days. Three days later, I could not hold it anymore and wet my pants. I was forced to wear the wet pants and was not allowed to sleep. They forced me to stand day and night for 15 days and did not allow me to sleep. I went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The police force-fed me with a food tube. Every time they pulled the tube out of my mouth, the tube had blood on it. In the winter, they only allowed me to wear a shirt and trousers and opened the window to freeze me. I was even handcuffed in the restroom or in the dark area under the stairs for a long time. Once the police tied me to a bed for an entire week. They let my family pick me up and take me home only after I was in critical condition.

In the summer of 2005, I was arrested again by police officer Su Yuejian and others while I was out walking. My home was also searched.

On June 20, 2006, at noon, officer Su Yuejian and others arrested me again in front of the school entrance. I was detained in the police station for a entire afternoon, my home was searched, and some of my belongings were confiscated again. On June 25, 2006, I went to school to work and was arrested again by officers Dong Zhenqi and Liu Zhi from Xiagezhuang Police Station, who were waiting for me there. Later I was detained in the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City and persecuted. In the detention center, I had been brutally beaten by the prisoners. I protested the persecution by going on a hunger strike. Guard You Yuxiang force-fed me food and incited the prisoners to grab me by my hair and pull me out every day. Five or six prisoners held me down on the ground. Some grabbed my hair and some held my hands and feet, others held me down with their knees, and still others knelt on my legs. They used all kinds of ways to torture me. Several times, You Yuxiang found a prisoner who did not have any medial knowledge to use the insert-tube to force-feed me.

In November, judge Wang Huanxiang from Laixi sentenced me four years in prison without any evidence. My life was in great danger at that time, and the prison refused to accept me. I was sent back to the detention center again. I had been detained there for nearly six months and was brutally tortured.

During the past over ten years, Dafa practitioners not only have been persecuted physically and mentally, but have also taken huge financial losses. In 2001 when I was arrested and detained at the Wangcun Brainwashing Center, my family members had 7,000 yuan extorted from them. At the end of 2001, I attended the self-study exams for an undergraduate degree. I only had three exams left, and I had already paid all the exam fees. But I was not allowed to leave to take the exam. I missed the exam and the money I paid was totally wasted. In 2003, Wangcun Forced Labor Camp extorted nearly 10,000 yuan from my family. In 2001 and 2003, I had the chance twice to get a salary increase, but the school canceled my salary increase because I practiced Falun Gong. In August 2008, the Laixi Education Bureau issued an official document signed by the head of the education bureau, Zhang Weicai, to fire me.

I have only described briefly how I was persecuted. It is hard to describe the pain and suffering I endured 24 hours a day, every day, inside the prison.
