(Clearwisdom.net) In the past several years, many of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong, have feared one thing the most. That is, when traveling abroad, they might be handed a summons to appear in court to face charges of genocide, crimes against humanity, or torture. Such concerns are even more distressing since Wang Lijun, an official who had earlier curried great favor in the CCP for his role in persecuting Falun Gong, recently fell out of favor and found himself on the run. He even sought refuge in the local U.S. Consulate, but was apparently refused political asylum.
Wikileaks: CCP Officials Fear Being Sued Overseas
According to files publicized by Wikileaks, after visiting the U.S. in May 2006, CCP deputy head Xi Jinping (the current heir apparent for top CCP official Hu Jintao) told former U.S. Ambassador Clark Randt that he and other high officials were worried about being sued by in the U.S.
In the Wikileaks files, Xi Jinping said that he and other members of the delegation he was visiting with in 2007 were worried about being sued by Falun Gong practitioners. (This information was from U.S. diplomatic cables from 1999 until 2010 made public by Wikileaks) The cable read, “Xi said he and other Chinese officials are not worried or annoyed by noise or protests during visits, but are worried about the legal consequences and burdens if served papers as part of stateside legal actions.”
As a matter of fact, more than 30 high level CCP officials who are directly responsible for the brutal persecution of Falun Gong have been sued over the past several years in over 30 countries. The charges are primarily “crimes against humanity” or “genocide.” The officials involved include Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, and others.
Officials Fear Exposure
While CCP officials have in the past been afraid of being sued when traveling overseas, the recent incident of Wang Lijun's flight to, and then subsequent rejection from the U.S. Consulate in Chengdu City, has made them even more fearful. Wang Lijun had provided evidence of his cohort Bo Xilai's crimes to outsiders, only to find out that his accomplices could also turn him in at any time. In such an environment, none of them has anywhere to hide.
It was speculated that Wang had probably given the U.S. government evidence of Bo's involvement in harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. There is a proverb that says, the day has eyes, and the night has ears. CCP officials who actively participated in persecuting Falun Gong, regardless of their rank, likely possess evidence of other officials' involvement in the persecution. Then when their personal safety is endangered during political fights, they may report these bad deeds to the outside world in an attempt to save themselves.
Wang Participated in Organ Harvesting Atrocities Involving Falun Gong Practitioners
While Xi Jinping was visiting the U.S. in February 2012, a report issued by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) reported on Wang's involvement in harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners. The atrocities occurred when Wang was Jinzhou City Police Department head in Liaoning Province.
According to this report, before he was assigned to the position of Chongqing Police Department head, Wang was in charge of Jinzhou City Police Department and a psychology research center in the police department between May 2003 and June 2008. On September 17, 2006 Wang and his research center were rewarded by China Guanghua Foundation for innovative research on organ transplantation after medication injection. This award included research funding of two million yuan.
Ren Jinyang, the Secretary General of China Guanghua Foundation, said during the award ceremony, “Wang and his research center carried out basic as well as clinical studies on organ transplantation after medication injection. They invented new preservatives and tested them on liver and kidney tissues, both in vivo and in vitro. Based on results obtained from animals, in vitro experiments, and clinical applications, their findings have proven to be a breakthrough in organ transplantation.” Wang then thanked Ren and other leaders from China Guanghua Foundation for their support, including on-site visits for organ transplantations. He also indicated that the research results were based on thousands of medical procedures.
A report issued by WOIPFG on December 12, 2009, provided testimony from a witness to Wang's involvement in the organ harvesting. This witness, a member of Wang's police force, received orders from Wang to completely eradicate Falun Gong practitioners. He had himself participated in the arrest and torture of Falun Gong practitioners in 2002. One of the victims was a female practitioner in her 30s who, after one week of brutal beating and force-feeding, had bruises all over. On April 9, 2002 two military surgeons came from Liaoning Police Department and, while the practitioner was fully awake, surgically removed her heart and kidneys without applying any anesthetic. As an armed security guard, this witness saw the entire process and how the practitioner suffered and died. In addition to the recorded and written testimony from this witness, there is additional evidence that Wang was directly involved in the organ harvesting.
The Aftermath Is Beginning to Unfold
Wang is merely one of the countless number of players in the systematic persecution of Falun Gong. Above him, at the provincial level, is Bo Xilai. At a higher, national level is Zhou Yongkang, and all the way up to Jiang Zemin, who had launched and extended the brutal persecution against Falun Gong.
With the goal of completely eradicating Falun Gong, Jiang took extremely brutal measures over the past 12 years, from his order to “destroy their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and annihilate them physically” to harvesting organs from practitioners while they were still alive.
The recent scandal between Wang and Bo may unleash further political fallout in the weeks and months ahead. As the internal fights among CCP officials intensify, the gross misdeeds many of them committed during the massive persecution of Falun Gong will continue to surface. No doubt some officials will also step forward willingly, out of regret for their misdeeds, to expose the crimes that they and others have committed.
