(Minghui.org) On the last Saturday in March 2012, in Sala, a small city in western Slovakia, people gathered to sign a petition against the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The persecution is currently not the focus of the media, so local practitioners took the initiative to help stop the cruelty happening in China by informing as many people as possible. Pressure from public opinion can help speed up change.
Some passersby said they thought that China is currently an economically strong country and could hardly be influenced. However, recent information from China which was presented to them shows in-fighting among high level officials of the Chinese Communist Party. The faction of Jiang Zemin, who started the persecution in 1999 and escalated it in the following years, is especially facing crisis. After learning these facts, many people acknowledged that their opinion makes a difference and many of them supported practitioners by signing the petition to stop the persecution.
One man discussed the principles of Falun Dafa with a practitioner for more than an hour. Other passersby, especially young children, carried away with them small paper lotus flowers, symbols of purity.
