(Minghui.org) China is bustling with political earthquake these days. First, there was the CCP police chief Wang Lijun seeking asylum at the American Consulate in Chengdu; then Bo Xilai was demoted; next Premier Wen Jiabao flared into a rage, stating that harvesting organs from imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners by the Jiang faction was inhuman. This was followed by CCP President Hu Jintao using political strategies to deal with Zhou Yongkang. More recently, Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao were said to copy the Japanese political line...
Some fellow practitioners became excited about these events, and were thinking that what happened to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was only the beginning and that even worse things would follow. Didn't we forget who we are?
What is our mission? Is it to enjoy the ongoing drama? Do we have anything to do with the CCP's politics? After all, the CCP's moves were attempts to avoid being eliminated.
What's more, some practitioners are attached to the year 2012. Does 2012 relate to our cultivation? Is it in the Fa? Will it guarantee that you will be saved to Heaven just because you think about it every day?
The path practitioners are taking is different from that of everyday people, which includes what practitioners are thinking about. If you think about everyday people's affairs aren't you an everyday person? Look at the everyday people who are indulging in their “proper business”–madly seeking fame, self-interest, and emotion. So why can't we, as practitioners, concentrate on our “proper business” and whole-heartedly do well the three things Teacher requested us to do?
If a practitioner cannot distinguish between practitioners and everyday people he cannot make progress in cultivation since they are two totally different paths. Cultivators in the past could let go of everything because they were very clear that they were different from everyday people. What do everyday people want? What do we want? We want to assimilate to the Fa and assist Teacher in rectifying the Fa.
If you do not want to assimilate to the Fa and just want to be an everyday person, then you are not a practitioner. In that case no one is able to save you. If someone doesn't want to live, no one is able to interfere.
Our cultivation is really different. In history not a single school of cultivation had its disciples “clarify the truth to save sentient beings.” The path practitioners are taking is to study the Fa, do the exercises, improve xinxing, clarify the truth to save sentient beings, and send righteous thoughts. Some practitioners do not understand the requirements and cultivate in Dafa like cultivators did in the past. Therefore, they do not want to do the three things. I would ask, “What cultivation way are you cultivating then?”
This is only my personal understanding.
Teacher said,
“With a Dafa like this, how could so many magnificent future Gods, magnificent Dafa disciples, who've been forged through Dafa cultivation put their hope in some ordinary person? Aren't we insulting ourselves? Could human beings control Gods? But a lot of our Dafa disciples were thinking that way. It's not a big deal if one person thinks that way, and it's not a big deal if two people think that way--that's just their personal cultivation issue. But if everybody thinks that way, then what kind of situation will there be among the larger group of Dafa disciples? It'll be a major disruption, a strong attachment, and that can't be allowed. I saw it, and the old forces saw it, too. The old forces thought, "Wait a minute, what's this?" So they made the outcome of the CCP's 16th Congress worse.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference II)
Time flies! Every factor changes in the twinkling of an eye and every change might be decisive. For every practitioner the longer we hold these attachments, even if for only one more minute, it might leave us irreversible regret.
