(Minghui.org) On March 13 and 14, 2012, Shulan 610 Office in Jilin Province illegally arrested five or six Falun Gong practitioners and sent them to the Shulan Brainwashing Center. It was reported that 30 to 40 people assisted in this persecution. Most participated in order to earn extra money. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spends huge amounts of taxpayers' money to persecute Falun Gong.
At 7 p.m. on March 13, 2012, Ms. Dong Wenqin and her husband, Mr. Han Guilin (who is not a practitioner), from Jiangyan Village, Fate Township, Shulan, were arrested at the orders of the Shulan 610 Office.
At 6 p.m. on March 14, 2012, Ms. Wang Hua and Mr. Tian Fengju from Xinglong Village, Liangjiashan Township, Shulan, were taken away from their homes by seven or eight officers from the Liangjiashan Police Station. They were sent directly to the Shulan Brainwashing Center, set up at the guesthouse of the Shulan Grain Bureau.
On the afternoon of March 14, 2012, Mr. Yang Jianwei was arrested at his office and taken to the brainwashing center by officers from the Tiedong Police Station.
It was verified that all of these arrests had been directed by the Shulan 610 Office. Its plan was to coordinate arrests of Falun Gong practitioners and force them to undergo a 15-day brainwashing session.
The brainwashing center was set up in the guesthouse of the Shulan Grain Bureau. The Domestic Security Division sent personnel to guard the guesthouse entrance. Four people were on daytime duty and one was on night shift. The Tiedong Neighborhood Committee also sent people to take turns to guard the facility. A security desk was set up in the hallway at the entrance to the first floor. The first room next to the entrance was for the Domestic Security Division officers. The second room was for the 610 Office agents. Five or six Falun Gong practitioners were detained at the center. Two male practitioners, Mr. Yang Jianwei and Mr. Tian Fengju, were detained on the first floor, while female practitioners were detained on the second floor.
People in charge included 610 Office Director Han and Deputy Director Zhu Jingbo, Section Chief Wang Hanming, Niu Zhangzhi, Deputy Party Secretary Fang from the Teidong Neighborhood Committee, Community Secretary Zhu Zhi, Deputy Community Secretary Wu Guoqian, Wang Cheng from the Security Section of Textile Mill, Domestic Security Division Chief Qu Lizhi, Zhang Xuetao, Liu Shuanghui and Li Heju. Except for Fang and Qu Lizhi, all of these people took turns being collaborators.
The 610 Office paid everyone who assisted in the persecution a daily allowance of 60 yuan. Meals cost about 35 yuan per day and a bed rental cost 20 yuan per day. Those who assisted in the persecution were also reimbursed for toiletries. While five or six Falun Gong practitioners were detained in the brainwashing center at this time, about 40 people took meals in the cafeteria. Wang Hanming often stayed at the brainwashing center overnight in order to earn night shift allowance.
Although many people guarded the brainwashing center, Mr. Yang Jianwei managed to escape at about 7 p.m. on March 17, 2012.
Ms. Wang Hua became weak after three days of torture. She twitched and could not take care of herself. She was sent home on March 17, 2012.
