Additional Persecution News from China – April 3, 2012 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. In this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 7 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wafangdian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sha Huimin Arrested and Detained

Ms. Sha Huimin from Dongyangtai Village, Liguan Town, Wafangdian, Liaoning Province, was illegally arrested on the morning of March 28, 2012, by Yu Zhen and other officers from the Liguan Police Station, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Sha has been detained in the Nanguanling Drug Rehabilitation Center (used as a detention facility) in Dalian, Liaoning Province.

2. [Fuyang, Anhui Province] Mr. Li Cunren Arrested and Detained

Elderly Mr. Li Cunren was arrested by officers from the Qinghelu Police Station in Fuyang while he posted materials clarifying the facts about Falun Gong on the night of March 31, 2012. He is currently detained in a detention center.

3. [Yangquan, Shanxi Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Bai Fengzhong, Mr. Wang Xuzhou, Ms. Zhu Guiling and Ms. Bai Jianping from Pingding County, Yangquan, were arrested on November 26, 2011. They were sentenced on March 31, 2012. Ms. Bai was sentenced to four and a half years in prison, Mr. Wang Xuzhou to three and a half years in prison, Ms. Zhu Guiling to three and a half years in prison, and Ms. Bai Jianping to three years in prison.

4. [Changyi, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yingli Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhang Yingli from Buzhuang Town, Changyi, was arrested on the afternoon of March 16, 2012. She has been detained in Weifang, Shandong Province.

5. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Li Detained; Her Home Ransacked

Ms. Xu Li from Ganjingzi District, Dalian, was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong on the night of March 22, 2012. Her home was ransacked. She has been detained in the Jinnanlu Drug Rehabilitation Center (used as a detention facility).

6. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Wei and Mr. Zhao Jingquan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yu Wei and Mr. Zhao Jingquan were reported to police while they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of March 30, 2012. They were arrested and are being held in the Changle Detention Center.

7. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zongxuan Arrested; His Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Wang Zongxuan, in his 40s, from Pozi Village, Mucun Town, Fangzi District, Weifang, was arrested around March 20, 2012, by officers from the Weifang Domestic Security Division, who had waited for him in Donghuang Village, Gaoxin District. His current whereabouts are unknown. The police also ransacked the site that Mr. Wang had used to produce informational materials about Falun Gong and confiscated four DVD burners, four printers and over ten cases of DVDs.

8. [Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Tan Meili Arrested and Detained

Ms. Tan Meili was arrested by officers from the Penpu Police Station while she was talking to people about Falun Gong on April 1, 2012. She has been detained in the local detention center.

9. [Taiyuan, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Runfang Imprisoned; Father Not Allowed to Visit

Ms. Li Runfanag was sentenced to six years in prison. She has been detained in the Shanxi Women's Prison. The prison has not allowed her father to visit her for nine months.

10. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Xiuhua Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Ma Xiuhua was reported to police and arrested on the night of March 31, 2012. On April 1, 2012, she was transferred to a forced labor camp by officers from the Laiyuan Domestic Security Division.
