(Minghui.org) Ms. Guo Jun was arrested on March 9, 2011 by officers from Xiangheyuan Police Station in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, when she was seen handing a copy of the Shen Yun Performing Arts DVD to a passerby. She was first taken to the Chaoyang District Detention Center, and was later sentenced to two years in the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she has been detained for 13 months.

Ms. Guo is the wife of a Chinese-American, and they both live in Beijing with their child. Ms. Guo's husband is very ill and has not been able to take care of himself since 2008. Her mother is also in poor health and her child currently studies at an elementary school. Ms. Guo handled all of the family's affairs and daily needs before she was arrested, and the entire family relied on her to look after them. Officials at the labor camp have not allowed Ms. Guo to have any contact with her family for more than four months, and they are very worried about her situation.

Ms. Guo was administered unknown drugs during her detention, and she has now been transferred to another team, where her persecution has been intensified. This was done because she persists in her belief in Falun Gong.

Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp is notorious for its brutality, and guards personally order criminal inmates to use various means of torture to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. These methods include sleep deprivation, denial of baths and showers, shocking with electric batons, physical abuse, force-feeding, and forced labor.
