Additional Persecution News from China – June 13, 2012 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 7 provinces. In this report, 11 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Min Changchun Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison

Mr. Min Changchun, 37, from Zhongxiang City was arrested in Wuhan City on September 27, 2011. The authorities sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment in May 2012. He is currently detained in the Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County.

2. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Shuyun and Ms. Ma Lina Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Yu Shuyun and Ms. Ma Lina were each sentenced to 2 years of forced labor on June 6, 2012. They were sent to the Jinan Women’s Forced Labor Camp.

3. [Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner’s Relative Ms. Cui Guifen Arrested

Ms. Cui Guifen is a relative of a Falun Gong practitioner who became homeless in order to avoid further persecution. Ms. Cui was recently arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station for supporting Falun Gong practitioners.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tang Yongzhi Detained

Ms. Tang Yongzhi, 67, and Ms. Li, 65, from Pingfang District were reported to the Chaoyang Police Station when they distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on the afternoon of June 9, 2012. Ms. Li managed to escape. Ms. Tang was arrested and sent to the Yaziquan First Detention Center in Harbin City.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Meng Xiuxin Arrested

More than 20 police officers from Tangshan City surrounded Ms. Meng Xiuxin’s home on June 9, 2012. They broke into her home by picking her door lock, ransacked it and confiscated a computer and three printers. Ms. Meng was arrested.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Xiuyan Arrested

Ms. Xu Xiuyan from Lubei District was arrested on June 9, 2012.

7. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yuzhen Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Wang Yuzhen was arrested on May 14, 2012, for posting informational materials about Falun Gong. She was initially held in the Laizhou Detention Center for 22 days, where she was subjected to severe torture, as a result of which her condition deteriorated and she developed symptoms of hematuria. Officials sentenced Ms. Wang to 2 years of forced labor, and agents from the Laizhou City 610 Office subsequently transferred her to the Jinan First Women’s Forced Labor Camp.

8. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] More Than 13 Practitioners Detained

Among many practitioners arrested on April 24, 2012, Mr. Wang Wei, Ms. Yu Lanxiang and Ms. Zou Guixiang have been incarcerated in the Shanyou Detention Center. More than 10 other practitioners have been held in the Changchun Detention Center.

9. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Guiyun Sent to Jinan Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Guiyun was arrested by Jiyang Police Station officers when she spoke to people about Falun Gong on May 30, 2012. She was sent to the Beiwulitun Detention Center the same afternoon and detained for 10 days. She was transferred to the Jinan Brainwashing Center on June 8, 2012.

10. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhou Chengfu Detained

Mr. Zhou Chengfu, an employee of the Bureau of Animal Husbandry in Yishui County, was arrested when he distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on June 7, 2012. He is currently held in the Yishui Detention Center.

11. [Tianjin] At Least 6 Practitioners Arrested

More than 10 officers from the Beichen 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Fan Jinzhu’s home and arrested him. They also arrested other practitioners who were at his home at the time, including Mr. Li Liang, Ms. Liu Yanli, Ms. Guo, Ms. Liu Xuan and Ms. Wang.

Ms. Liu has been released. The other practitioners are currently incarcerated in the Beichen Detention Center.

The police confiscated many of the practitioners’ personal belongings, including the passports of Mr. Li Liang, Ms. Liu Yanli and Ms. Liu Xuan, Mr. Li Liang’s vehicle, cell phones, hard discs, wallets, identity cards, Falun Gong books and a laptop.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xu Tong Sent to Zhanjiaji Brainwashing Center

Mr. Xu Tong was recently arrested and sent to the Zhanjiaji Brainwashing Center.

13. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Youqin and Mr. Guo Qirong Arrested

Tianzhuang Police Station officers broke into Ms. Zhang Youqin’s home on June 10, 2012. They arrested Ms. Zhang and sent her to the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City. They also ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer and a cell phone.

On the following morning, police officers arrested Mr. Guo Qirong in Tianzhuang Market. They extorted 10,000 yuan from his family before releasing him in the afternoon.

14. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Lihua Detained

Ms. Liu Lihua was arrested by officers from the Liaoyang City Police Department on June 6, 2012. She has been transferred to the Liaoyang City Detention Center by Yang Junliang, head of the Hongwei District Domestic Security Division.

15. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Xianglan Detained

Ms. Yu Xianglan was arrested at home on June 3, 2012. She was sent to the Yanji City Detention Center on June 11, 2012.

16. [Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Qingxiang Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Wang Qingxiang was arrested when she spoke about Falun Gong to an employee of a water company on the morning of May 29, 2012. She was sent to a detention center. On June 7, 2012, Ms. Wang was sentenced to 15 months of forced labor and transferred to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

17. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Fengxiang Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Fengxiang, an employee of the Chongqing Iron & Steel Group, was arrested and sent to a brainwashing center.

18. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Wenqin Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chen Wenqin was arrested on May 23, 2012, and taken to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.

19. [Dachang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Wang Yuzhen from Xiadian Town was arrested by 4 policemen on the morning of June 11, 2012.

20. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dabei Prison Guards Torture Practitioners with Sleep Deprivation

All male Falun Gong practitioners detained in the Panjin Prison were transferred to the Dabei Prison in Liaoning Province on May 8, 2012. During the past month, the prison guards tortured the practitioners using long-term sleep deprivation.
