(Minghui.org) Minghui.org published the article, “Police in the Gao District of Weihai City, Shandong Province Commit Evil and Detain Ms. Qi Xiuchun in Brainwashing Center” on June 14, 2012. Good people who have learned the truth criticized the Gao District police who are handling the case and called for Ms. Qi's immediate release and that the person responsible be held accountable.

Ms. Qi Xiuchun and fellow practitioner Ms. Wang Diansong went to University Village in Chucun Township in the evening on May 12, 2012, to hang up a banner celebrating “May 13 World Falun Dafa Day.” Ms. Wang, who was near 70 years old, was beaten to death. The only eyewitness, Ms. Qi, was detained by the Weihai City Gao District police.
The police wanted to use the situation to frame Ms. Qi, and referred to her as the “murder suspect” in the report sent to the Shandong Provincial Department of Public Security.
After Ms. Qi's detention expired, without any evidence or the case being solved, the Gaoqu police sent Ms. Qi, the key witness, to the Wang Village Brainwashing Center in Zibo City, trying to further stall for time and cover up the truth.
Subjected to Multiple Harassment and Persecution
At the end of 1998, Ms. Qi suffered a hemorrhage due to two ectopic pregnancies within two years. After emergency treatment, she had serious sequelae and her hemoglobin count was extremely low. The doctor told her to rest for six months to a year before she could return to work.
A friend introduced Ms. Qi to Falun Gong. Soon after she began to practice, she experienced huge changes mentally and physically, and was able to ride her bicycle and go back to work in less than a month. Her friends and neighbors all praised the practice and said, “Falun Gong works wonders!”
However, less than a year after Ms. Qi began practicing, the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999.
During the years that followed, Ms. Qi kept clarifying the facts. She worked in the shoe store that she and her husband owned. Her husband, Mr. Yan Shubin, used to have serious colitis. After witnessing the miraculous changes in his wife, in August 2003, he started practicing Falun Gong as well.
Such a kind and honest couple, however, have been repeatedly harassed by Beixing police station officers. Ms. Qi was picked up in March 2004 for clarifying the facts to people and taken to the Beixing Detention Center. On May 14, 2004, after her term had expired, her husband went to the detention center to pick her up. Seeing how weak she had become, Mr. Yan accused the police of violating the law while pretending to enforce it. The police arrested him immediately and did not release him until he went on a hunger strike for three days. From then on, the police frequently harassed the couple at their shoe store.
On December 6, 2004, Beixing Farm police officers broke into the shoe store and snatched Dafa books and materials, as well as a brand new computer that had been bought four days before. The couple had to leave home and became homeless to avoid persecution.
On May 5, 2005, not long after they had settled down in Weihai, Shandong Province, police arrested Mr. Yan for clarifying the facts. They transferred him to Hongxinglong Detention Center on June 6, and sentenced him to three years of forced labor in Suihua Forced Labor Camp.
After her husband was sent to the forced labor camp, Ms. Qi became homeless and had to make a living as a nanny.
Once, a young couple hired her to take care of their mother who was paralyzed and bedridden. The old woman wet the bed, and her husband blamed and criticized Ms. Qi for this. But Ms. Qi didn't get frustrated. Instead she cared for the old woman as if she were her mother. When she had time, she would chat with her and tell her how wonderful Falun Gong was, and taught her to say, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” In addition, she played Master's lectures using her MP3 player for the old woman. In less than 10 days, a miracle occurred. The old woman was able to get out of bed and use the bathroom. Witnessing the wonder of Falun Dafa, her family was incredibly moved. Before long, the woman had totally recovered.
In 2008, Ms. Qi's husband was released from the forced labor camp. In May 2012, when Ms. Qi and Ms. Wang Diansong went out to hang up banners, Ms. Qi witnessed Ms. Wang being killed and was consequently detained by the police. Ms. Qi is still in detention at this time.
We call for all kindhearted people and concerned organizations inside and outside of China to pay close attention to this case and rescue Ms. Qi as soon as possible.
