(Minghui.org) Mr. Song Hongshui and Ms. Li Huiyun, a Falun Gong practitioner couple from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, were taken away by police and held in the Second Detention Center. Mr. Song was forced to work 14 hours every day. Ms. Li refused the slave-labor persecution, so the police tied her hands to a rack by an iron chain. She is now showing signs of a mental disorder due to the persecution.
On June 21, 2012, the Xinhua District Court of Shijiazhaung city started the second trial of the couple. Two lawyers filled with a sense of justice defended the innocent couple with strong evidence and arguments. At the conclusion of the trial, the lawyers threw their documents onto the desk out of indignation and declared loudly, "The belief follows the law. The persecution violates the law." The judge was rendered speechless. but the 610 Office demanded that the Xinhua District Court not release the couple. Details of Persecution
Mr. Song Hongshui, 48, worked in administration at the Information Science School of Hebei Science and Technology University. He started practicing Falun Dafa in November 1996. Through the practice he found the meaning of life and became healthier, both physically and mentally. He treated others earnestly, did not seek fame and benefits, and worked hard. He was praised in every position he held. However, after the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, the university cut his salary and he was sent to grow flowers. He was later even deprived of an official position. Moreover, the university and police twice sent him to brainwashing sessions, and he was subjected to brutal torture.
Ms. Li Huiyun, also about 48 years old, is one of the first PhDs at Hebei Science and Technology University. She was an associate professor at the Mechanical and Electrical School of Hebei Science and Technology University. She did very well in her job and received many national and international research honors and awards. However, because she practiced Falun Gong, she was sent to do cleaning work, and deprived of her salary and official position. Moreover, she was sent to a brainwashing session at least once, to a labor camp once, and to a psychiatric hospital where she was forced to take nerve-damaging medicine twice as a way to force her to give up her practice.
Police arrested Mr. Song Hongshui on March 2, 2011, as he was distributing truth-clarification materials at Junxie College. The 610 Office did not follow any legal procedure but directly pillaged his home. They also took away his wife, Li Huiyun and some other visitors.
Mr. Song is currently detained at the Second Detention Center of Shijiazhaung City. He is forced to work for 14 hours every day like a slave. Li Huiyun rejected such slave-labor persecution. Her hands were subsequently cuffed to a rack with steel chains. There is a rack in every jail cell. Every cell has a large bed and a small bed. The rack was usually put next to the wall on the small bed, and composed of two armrests one meter apart. The police cuffed Li Huiyun's hands to the armrests with steel chains. For one and a half years, the police forced Li Huiyun to eat, drink, and excrete all on the bed. At night, Li Huiyun could only lay down with her arms hanging from the rack. She slept in this position for a year, and could never turn around. She could not take a shower or change her top clothes. Even her excretions and periods had to rely on others for help to complete. The monitor was right above the rack, which completely robbed her of human dignity. Due to such savage persecution, she often appeared mentally disordered. She is now in a very urgent situation.
Constantly Persecuted Due to Cultivating Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance
Simply for sticking to his belief, Song Hongshui was twice sent to brainwashing sessions, on September 27, 2001 and February 24, 2004, by Hebei Science and Technology University and police. He was insulted and bullied there several times. During these periods, his son, who was an elementary student, was forced to leave the classroom, and was sent back to his hometown.
For no reason, Li Huiyun was also sent to a brainwashing center (the so-called "Law Education and Training Center of Hebei Province") on February 24, 2004, where she suffered both mentally and physically. She was deprived of sleep for several days, burned with cigarettes, and also insulted and beaten. She was often beaten with her hands handcuffed to the chair. Once, one side of her chin was given a hard slap. When the police found her face tilted toward one side, they slapped her other side. In August 2004, the police declared Li Huiyun psychologically disordered and sent her to a psychiatric hospital, where she was persecuted for two months. She was injected with large doses of nerve damaging drugs, which caused a lack of strength and made her faint.
Torture re-enactment: Injecting unknown drugs
After one and a half months, Li Huiyun was detained at Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp for a two year sentence. To force Li Huiyun to give up her belief, the labor camp denied family visits. Li Huiyun's mother, 70 years old, once begged the police and even kneeled down to the police. Only by doing this, could the old mother see her daughter, she but was still monitored by two plainclothes policemen. In October 2005, under the command of 610 Office, Li Huiyun was once again detained at the psychiatric hospital and injected with toxic drugs.
Li Huiyun has again been detained at the Second Detention Center for more than 17 months, from March 2011 to now. She has often been subjected to severe torture, including being handcuffed to the rack. Her physical body and spirit are devastated, and she is in a very urgent situation.
