(Minghui.org) On September 5, 2012, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhang Yongsheng and his wife, Ms. An Jing, were arrested from their home by Li Wei and Zhang Yingli of the State Security, Liaozhong County Police Department, and other officers. The couple both worked in the County Rural Power Bureau. They are now in Shenyang Brainwashing Center.
Li Wei had been trying to arrest the couple for some time. Ms. An had a personal passport. When Li Wei discovered this, on August 10, 2012, he and Zhang Yingli went to Ms. An's relatives. They lied to them and took Ms. An's passport. They then quietly got into the Rural Power Bureau and tried to arrest Ms. An, but she was not present. They then went to her home, but she was not there either. They pried the door open and ransacked the house. They did not find anything they wanted. Li Wei then threatened the neighbors, saying that anyone who hid Ms. An would have their home ransacked as well. The neighbors did not approve of the wicked actions of the police.
For their safety, Mr. Zhang and Ms. An had to leave home for a period of time. Li Wei did not give up. Finally on the morning of September 5, they arrested Mr. Zhang, Ms. An, and their child in front of their home and again ransacked the house. Again, they found nothing. Now Li Wei and Zhang Yingli are trying to fabricate charges in order to get the couple convicted.
On September 13, 2012, Li Wei threatened Mr. Zhang's older brother and sister-in-law, who agreed to come to the brainwashing center to persuade Ms. An to sign an agreement promising to not practice Falun Gong.
Since Ms. An and Mr. Zhang began practicing Falun Gong, they've always strictly followed the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Ms. An used to work in the finance department, and many people tried to bribe her with money and gifts. Because she always refused all of them, she was well respected and trusted by her managers and co-workers. Mr. Zhang worked as part of the technical staff. He was very good at what he did and was never interested in fame or money. Whatever he did, he was always considerate of others. As a result, management held him in high regard, and everyone enjoyed working with him.
Now the couple has been arrested because of their beliefs. The parents of both Ms. An and Mr. Zhang are extremely worried. Ms. An's father has had a stroke in the past and cannot walk without assistance. He wanted to go to the police department but is not able to. Ms. An's mother and Mr. Zhang's mother both miss them. Their absence has put a lot of stress on the parents. The couple's child was supposed to return school on September 5, but has not been able to because of this incident.
