Domestic Security Police Arrest Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zuo Xianfeng
Domestic Security Group leader Zhang Yingduo from Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province, telephoned Ms. Zuo Xianfeng on the morning of July 27, 2012 to invite her over for dinner. Ms. Zuo knew the Domestic Security Group belonged to the national secret service and that they would use any means to reach their goals. However, Ms. Zuo thought this would be a good opportunity to finally meet the group leader of the Domestic Security Group, and that she should tell him the facts about Falun Gong, and let him know that Falun Gong is a Buddhist school cultivation practice, and that participating in the persecution of Falun Gong will result in a terrible fate. Thus, Ms. Zuo agreed to meet with Zhang Yingduo.
Ms. Zuo arrived the Domestic Security Group office on the afternoon of July 30. Without saying much, Zhang Yingduo attempted to detain Ms. Zuo. His reason was that Ms. Zuo wrote about her experience at the forced labor camp and published it on an overseas website. Ms. Zuo had exposed the brutal torture she had endured at the forced labor camp, including electric shocks, beating while hung by handcuffs, subjected to freezing cold temperatures, and sitting on a metal chair for a long time.
Ms. Zuo said to Zhang Yingduo, “Those prison guards do illegal things that are a serious breach of the law. They violate human rights and what they have done is extremely inhumane. Exposing them provides our country with the information about these lawless individuals and helps to eventually stop their evil deeds. I should have been rewarded. However, not only did these police officers not chase down the real criminals, they even arrested the victim?!”
Zhang Yingduo said, “Forced labor camp guards should beat people, you should be beaten if you did not do what you were told. The communist party pays my salary. I listen to whoever gives me money. What's the use of being a good person?” After that, Zhang Yingduo, Hao Jianfei, and Zheng Jun took Ms. Zuo to the detention center and she was detained for ten days.
Police Officers Use Violence to Obtain DNA Samples from Ms. Zuo
Zhang Yingduo, Song Yuze, and Hao Jianfei went to the detention center at 9:00 a.m. on July 31. They tried to obtain a DNA sample from Ms. Zuo, but she did not cooperate [It was suspected that their purpose was linked to the brutal practice of organ harvesting from Falun Gong prisoners of conscience.] Song Yuze and Hao Jianfei pinned Ms. Zuo down on a chair and held both of her arms, Zhang Yingduo tried to pry Ms. Zuo's mouth open to obtain a tissue sample from the epithelial tissue inside of her mouth. Ms. Zuo would not open her mouth, so Zhang Yingduo used a piece of wood to try to pry her mouth open, but she still refused to open it. Zhang Yingduo started to slap her face and shout, “The labor camp abused you, but I am worse than the labor camp! I will beat you to death today.” After countless slaps, Zhang Yingduo still could not open Ms. Zuo's mouth. He then grabbed Ms. Zuo by the hair and pushed her down to the floor. Zhang Yingduo kneeled on Ms. Zuo's left arm, while Song Yuze and Hao Jianfei held Ms. Zuo's right arm and head. Zhang Yingduo then pinched close Ms. Zuo's nostrils and attempted to open her mouth that way. Ms. Zuo was tortured to the point of exhaustion and could not move. Only then did the three officers stop the abuse.
The violent attack lasted for about half an hour. The sound of shouting and beating was heard clearly by everyone in the detention center, and none of the guards at the detention center stepped in to stop the violence. The detention center chief, Sun Changlin, did not show up until Ms. Zuo was lying on the floor motionless. There were also three personnel from the Radio and Television Bureau present at the scene. Zhang Yingduo said to Ms. Zuo, “Who saw me hitting you? Who can testify?”
Ms. Zuo did not get angry, but said to Zhang Yingduo, “I don't feel upset when you curse and beat me. I don't feel upset when you lock me up. What saddens me most is that you will have to face justice and you still do not know the truth. My hunger strike is to save you. Falun Dafa is good. If I submit to this persecution, your sin will be even greater...”
Ms. Zuo went on hunger strike right after she was arrested, and did not eat anything for ten days. She was finally sent home.
